Chapter 1: Eichi Tenshouin

I stood on stage as an announcement said"Coming back with their 2nd comeback, here is 'Bumble Slay'!!". We performed with all we had not knowing this would be our last performance. Feeling content after the show we headed back to our company'STARMAKER'. As we entered we saw Eichi waiting for us, as I looked at his face all the happiness disappeared. Eichi had a sombre look on his face as he called us for a meeting. I had never seen him with that expression before, I got nervous just hearing his voice. As we headed to the meeting room the atmosphere felt monotonous.  Eichi started talking as soon as we got there. He said"I am quite disappointed to say this but you guys have become underperformers. I think there is nothing else you guys can do to contribute to the company. To put it in simpler words, your group is getting laid off."Hearing those words the only thing I felt was betrayal. My heart sank, my chest felt heavy and this whole scenario felt like a horrid nightmare. If this news just came from any other business executive it wouldn't have hurt as much but this was Eichi, my childhood best friend.
