52: Closure

A week passed, things changed very much lately, Ashlesha was still in the hospital but out of ICU, still in observation, everyone showering all the love to her, her father was slowly accepting Karthik seeing his care and love towards her, but her health was not growing, for the good fact it was not detouring either improving, but it was also hard for her she had a plaster on her right arm and one on the knee , she didn’t know about the news spread about Ishqi, she was just informed that she was busy with her Maasi, as they are here in Delhi after a long time, but still she was a little unsure somewhere in her heart

Karthik was feeding her lunch when she was lost in her thoughts, her mouth was open for him to feed, but he saw her clearly lost in her thoughts, he keeps the bowl on the table and comes close to her, still she was all lost, he kisses her cheek all of a sudden, she looks at him in shock

“Finally you are back to earth, kya chal raha hai tumhare dimaag mai?” she looks at him for a second

“Patha nahi kuch thik nahi lag raha hai, it doesn’t feel like before, you know like I am missing Ishqi and Ahaan, I am missing all of us together, I thought hearing hoga and sab thik ho jayega, but things clearly didn’t go our way, but I had this hope of being together, but ab aise nahi hai, vo togetherness vali feel nahi hai, I feel like you all are hiding something from me”

“Did we ever hurt you, or did something bad to you?”

“Ye kaise question hai?”

“Answer Ashi” he asks caressing her cheek

“No, and I know you would never do that”

“You have your answer, we would never hurt you, I would never let anyone hurt you” he says looking into her eyes  

The three magical words were on the tip of her tongue seeing the sincerity and honesty in his eyes, but her past like always stopping her to express, tears started forming back of her eye, but for him those words don’t mean now, her actions were defining the love she has for him, he didn’t feel bad anymore.

“Ashi, why are you crying?”

“Dard ho raha hai”

“Mai doctor ko bulao?”

“Nahi, just be with me” she said holding his hand, he smiles at her and interwines their fingers and pats her head, she closes her eyes, but sleep was far away her

“Aur kitne din karthik aise” she asks closing her eyes

“Patience ashi, everything will be fine”

“Then what about us?”

“What do you mean?”

“Actually not us, me, me being so stupid always stopping myself, are you not tired of me?”

“Pagal ho gaye  ho kya? Why would I be tired of you? Why would I be tired of the girl who literally put herself in danger for me? I don’t care if you will love me back or not, but I will always love you” kisses her knuckles

“You all were stuck there because of me, and I couldn’t even take the thought of you being in my place, this can harm your career and I can’t let it happen, it’s not because I had to, it’s because I wanted to” she mumbles slowly

Before they could continue they hear a knock on their door, Karthik goes and opens the door to see Aarav along with a bouqet of flowers and fruits, they greet each other and enter the room together

“How are you Ashlesha?” she was shocked hearing Ashlesha from him, it’s been years he called her with her full name 

“Better” she replies with a smile

“Mai medicines leke aatha hun , you guys keep talking” Karthik left them both
