The night had suddenly taken to a much more sinister mood as the clouds parted revealing the moon in all its glory, casting an eerie shadow over the tall warehouse.
Tyler approached the massive metal door that had been weathered away by decades of rain battering it and striping away the paint. Tyler banged on the door rhythmically sending a bone chilling rattle through the quiet house causing flecks of pain to flutter to the ground and a group of birds scatter from the nearby trees.
I risked a quick glance behind me as we all waited for something to happen. My eyes met with Skyes and she raised a suggestive eyebrow glancing at both Mike and Tyler. I could feel both my cheeks blazing hot red as my eyes widened and i forced myself to return my gaze back to the door. After what seemed quite a while a rattling sound came from behind the door and Mike and Tyler both exchanged a look that only they knew the meaning of and hesitantly stepped closer to the door.
Mike nodded once and Tyler stretched out his arm to push the door open. With a heavy clank the door swung open almost knocking the two boys over. As the door opened up the night was flooded with intense light blinding me and the others for a mere second.
"Boys! Nice to see you! I assume you're in some amount of trouble again, come in come in!" A man dressed in blue overalls with a name tag indicating that he was 'Randy' ran an oil covered hand through his receding hair and gestured for us to come inside. I turned to Mike and gave him a silent "You've got to be kidding me" He simply shook his head and smiled ushering me and the others into the blinding light.
We all followed Randy through a series of plain grey tunnels lined with a mess of different sized pipes and a cluster of bright light bulbs here and there. We followed Randy down a few flights of stairs here and there until we emerged in a workshop type of room. There were parts of cars scattered everywhere, it was your typical garage, only seemingly underground. The stout man named Randy clapped his grease covered hands together startling me.
"So, what can i help you kids with today? Weapons, poisions, transport, maybe some hexes?" A wicked grin spread across his face as he rubbed his stubly chin examining all of us.
"Just some cars and weapons will do fine Randy." Skyler muttered as she picked up a bizare looking metal piece that I guessed belonged somewhere in a car.
"No no no no don't touch that." Randy hurried over and snatched the metallic piece out of her slender hand. She narrowed her eyes glaring at him.
"A car and weapons huh? What you got yourselves into again?" The man shook his head and approached a table with some misshapen drawers. They didn't quite seem to fit in their slots. Randy wrestled with one of the bottom drawers until with a jump he managed to pull it open and retrieved a set of keys.
"This is the best I got kids." He wiped the keys against his overalls and handed them to Tyler.
"Thanks Chief" Mike cleared his troth. "Um... the weapons Randy, really anything would be fine."
"What I say boy?" He snapped back heading over to what looked like the remains of a sports car. "That's the best I've got. You will find everything you need in the back." He winked and popped the hood on the car revealing complete emptiness. Randy scratched the back of his head and looked over his shoulder raising a bushy eyebrow. "You still here? Go already." He shook his head. "Damn kids never learn." He retrieved a cigarette from one of his many pockets and lit it up.
We all snapped out of our strange trance and followed Skyler as she lead the way into another room.
Another set of heavy looking iron doors was pushed open. The inside of this room was much cleaner and the only two things in it were two black Ford SUVs.
