Zheng Hao tapped his fingers on the marble counter restlessly, thinking about Xiao Yang. Although he tried to detach himself from the younger man, he was still his responsibility, so Zheng Hao would never wish any physical harm to him.

What if Xiao Yang really didn't eat anything for two days? Dreamily, Zheng Hao recalled a time when Xiao Yang was babbling about having a weak stomach and carrying snacks in case. What if he collapsed? He mustn't have been that stupid to starve himself, but... what if he did?

Unwittingly, Zheng Hao's hand groped on the counter to find his phone. Okay, he found it, now? He didn't want to call his so-called husband because it would show he cared about him.

So, what to do?

He ruminated for a few seconds until his brain came up with a 'marvellous' plan. With a smirk, he ordered delivery to his house and wrote a note that the courier had to deliver the package to the person in the house.

Xiao Yang would eat the food as he sent it, but Zheng Hao could deny it at night, saying it must have been a mixed delivery. Awesome!

Self-proud, Zheng Hao put the phone on the counter and returned back to work with a smirk.

Well, his proud smirk was soon wiped out from his face as he received a call from an unknown number.

"The person doesn't open the door..."

The words of the delivery man echoed in his mind and anxiety filled his heart. He was sure Xiao Yang said he would be at home all day, doing a tough assignment, then why didn't he open the door? Could it be that he was angry with him, so he went out to hang with Ji Bo to cool down?

No, somehow Zheng Hao knew it wasn't the case. With growing anxiety, he gave up from his pride and called Xiao Yang.

He waited and waited, but there was no reply...

"Damn it!" Zheng Hao exclaimed and closing the store, he hopped into his Honda to go home.

Normally, the road would take around fifteen to twenty five minutes regarding the traffic jam, but that day it took a hundred year to reach his house.

Leaving the car randomly at the side of the pavement, he ran to his house, his hands trying to find the right key for the door.

Once he managed the task, he barged into the house and had the second shock of his life.

Xiao Yang was on the floor in the foetus position, unmoving.

"Xiao Yang!!!" Zheng Hao exclaimed in horror and crouched down next to the figure. He gently yet fast turned him around and saw his painful expression; his eyes tightly shut, his lips forming a thin line and his face drenched in cold sweats...

"Xiao Yang," he called his name softly as he patted his face with his shaky hand.

That worked. The younger man half opened his bloodshot eyes and looked at him though unfocused. "Hao... ge... it... hurts..." he murmured with a hoarse voice and the panicking man felt he could breathe again.

"I will take you to hospital, you will be okay, I promise," Zheng Hao said in a soothing manner as he lifted the convulsing figure off the floor in bridal style. Although Xiao Yang wasn't too shorter or lighter than Zheng Hao, thanks to panic, the latter didn't have any problem with his burden. Trying to ignore the alarming heat his body emitted, the older man carried the younger one to his car, and then hit the gas to the hospital.

After a nervous drive, Zheng Hao lifted half-conscious Xiao Yang one more time and carried him into the emergency entrance. There, he handed his so-called husband to the doctor and slumped on the chair in front of the emergency room.

"It is my fault..." he mumbled, his head buried inside his palms. If something bad happened to Xiao Yang, he would never forgive himself.

"Are you the patient's guardian?"

Hearing the question, Zheng Hao raised his head fast and saw the same doctor attending to Xiao Yang.

"I am his... husband," he replied awkwardly, "how is he?"

The doctor gave him a scolding glare, "sir, you should take better care of your husband. He suffers from severe gastritis, so it wasn't wise for him to starve."

Zheng Hao nodded guiltily, "how is he now?"

"He is fine, let him rest until he wakes up, then you can go home," the doctor replied and gestured at him to follow him, "I will give you the prescription."

Obediently, Zheng Hao followed the doctor to his office and went to the pharmacy to get the medicine. When he came back, Xiao Yang was already transferred into a room, so Zheng Hao dragged a chair near the bed and looked at the sleeping figure's face.

His complexion was still highly pale, his close eyes were puffy and his colourless lips were cracked. He was frowning as though he was still in pain.

It was weird for Zheng Hao to see him sick...

Zheng Hao heaved a sigh and left the medicine bag on the cabinet next to the bed before leaning forward towards the bed. Rubbing the area between Xiao Yang's eyebrows, he mumbled "why are you so stubborn?"

Unfortunately, there was no answer. Xiao Yang continued to sleep without any movement, bothering Zheng Hao's conscience.

Time dragged its lazy arms slowly, adding more guilt to the older man's shoulders, but finally, two hours later, Xiao Yang opened his tired eyes.

"Hao ge?"

Zheng Hao raised his head immediately and looked at the sick man, "are you okay? Do you want me to call the nurse?"

Hearing the rare concern in his voice, Xiao Yang almost got happy to be hospitalised. Trying not to smile, he shook his head and started to ask "did you bring me hee-" but as his throat was too dry, he had a coughing fit.

"Don't speak," the older man scolded the younger one as he poured him some warm water. He even put a straw into the cup and held it up for him.

Overjoyed by the attention, Xiao Yang drank the entire cup and lay back. With a sigh, Zheng Hao threw the paper cup into the metal bin and sat back on the chair with an ireful expression. As Xiao Yang was okay now, he could scold him as he deserved.

"Are you a kid?"

"Ha?" Xiao Yang looked at him with a frown. Gosh, how come his mood changed that fast? Wasn't he concerned a second ago?

Zheng Hao clicked his tongue, "why didn't you eat when you have severe stomach problems? Why are you acting like a stupid kid?" he elaborated harshly.

Although his small outburst hurt Xiao Yang's feelings, he managed to look nonchalant. He took a deep breath and coldly said "if I am a stupid kid, what are you, ge? I kept telling you that I wouldn't eat if you didn't cook for me, yet you kept ignoring me. Now tell me, am I the only one to blame?"

That shushed Zheng Hao as he knew Xiao Yang was right. He did ignore him and caused him (50%) to be hospitalised. The other 50% of the responsibility belonged to Xiao Yang, who was stupidly stubborn. What if something bad happened? What if he didn't find him on time?

"Were you afraid?"

The sudden question snapped Zheng Hao from his thoughts. His eyes climbed up until he met the other's eyes. Was it hope in his eyes?

"You were convulsing with pain on the floor." Okay, that was a good elusion.

"So, you were worried?" Xiao Yang pressed with doe eyes.

"I..."
