Zheng Hao wiped the sweat off his face and adjusted the strips of his heavy backpack with a huff. He should have left his bag at the hotel, but in his haste, he forgot to do that. He rather rushed to Lake Xi while praying to the Heavens to find his husband soon.
With disinterest towards the magnificent view at the sunset, his eyes looked around frantically to identify the certain figure. Luckily, not many people were around, so he could clearly see a lonely figure standing on the pavilion on the lake, his back facing Zheng Hao.
With a mesmerised gaze, he watched the remaining orange sunbeams washing over the serene man in the silence of nature.
I found you, Zheng Hao said inwardly with relief and walked towards the lonely man with soundless steps. Then without a word, he just back hugged his husband, who got tensed for a second before realising who he was.
"Zheng ge?!" He came! He really came for me!
"Hssh, don't talk, let's watch the sunset," Zheng Hao whispered before kissing his husband's hair with longing.
Xiao Yang didn't answer, but he leaned more on the older man and together they watched the sun disappear from the horizon. After that, the darkness reigned for a few seconds before the lights of the pavilion came to life.
Then Xiao Yang broke the hug and turned around to face his husband, "what are you doing here? How did you find me?"
"Collecting my husband?" Zheng Hao replied with a smile, "you may not believe me, but I actually remember everything you told me."
Xiao Yang's heart skipped a beat, but he kept his face blank, "did you get the certificate I left?"
Zheng Hao stared into his eyes intently as he opened his palm and revealed two rings inside, "I got it, so I brought it back to its owner."
Seeing his husband preferred to talk about the ring over the certificate, Xiao Yang's heart brimmed with love, but then he realised Zheng Hao also took the ring off.
"You took it off, too?" he asked, trying but miserably failing to hide his resentment.
"Yes," Zheng Hao answered curtly and suddenly, threw the ring to the lake under the shocked gaze of the younger man.
"WHY DID YOU DO THAT?!" Xiao Yang cried out. Wasn't his ge confessing his love to him a second ago? Then why did he throw their rings?
Seeing his panic, Zheng Hao smiled with satisfaction. So, his husband wasn't really intent on leaving him. He just needed some reassurance. Cute.
"I didn't buy those," he said in the end as he grabbed Xiao Yang's cold hands.
"What?" the panicked man asked with a frown.
"It is true that I was threatened to marry you, but I am so glad about it. You are the best thing that happened to me, so I want us to start anew," he said and left his husband's hands to fish out a small red velvet box, "so, love of my life, will you accept my ring?" he asked as he opened the lid and revealed two thin platinum rings with their names carved in them.
Letting out a sob, Xiao Yang pulled Zheng Hao into a bone-crushing hug, "of course I do! I was waiting for you here!"
Zheng Hao chuckled and broke the hug for a second to place the ring on his finger, then Xiao Yang helped him wear his and they sealed the ceremony with a passionate kiss.
"I love you."
"I love you too, Yang Yang."
"So... we are already here. Shall we have the honeymoon here as well?"
Zheng Hao shook his head with a smile and tossed his heavy backpack into Xiao Yang's hands, "I knew you would say that."
"So heavy! What is in it?"
"Necessary stuff for our honeymoon."
"Really?!" Xiao Yang landed a sloppy kiss on his husband's cheek, "so it is full of condoms and lubes?"
"Yang Yang!"
"HAHAHAHA!"
