Harvey had explained to you all you needed to know. Mating marks, beast marks, clans, the cities. Everything you could've questioned about this world. Even after he was done explaining, he continued to massage your feet until you fell asleep. He really was a gentleman.
With as much as you wanted to ask him if he had a mate, you had a boyfriend back home. Sure, the relationship was toxic, but you couldn't help but love him. You had been online dating. Pathetic, I know. But every man you met in person had just tried to date you for your appearance, you never had anyone actually love you before. With him it was different, you felt he truly loved you. After a few months in the relationship though he got really aggressive, hence it being toxic. You suspected him of cheating, but you had no proof & even if he was; you didn't want to know. You were *in love* with him. He was only a couple of states away. Or at least, he used to be a couple of states away.. Who knows how far away you were from him now..?
You woke up to a large cat on top of you. From what Harvey told you, you assumed it was him. He was fairly heavy but *so* comfortable. His soft fur soothing you, his warm body, his weight calming. His purring increased your serotonin. You couldn't stay like this. You shook him lightly, "Harvey.. Harvey," Your whispers grow louder as you try to wake him. You watch him transform from a beast to a man. It was interesting. He stretched & yawned. Now next to you opposed to on top of you. Looking over to you, he had an expression of reminiscence. "Oh, Y/n" His smile was bright. "I'm guessing you'd like to shower & some new clothes..?" You nodded, your face flushed. He grabbed you hand & led you off the bed, "Here, I'll show you where the river is, I'll drop by some clothes after."
He dropped you off at a secluded river & left. 'Is he going to bring me my clothes while I'm washing..?' You put your hands to your face. That would be embarrassing. You quickly stripped & got in the water. 'Ahh. Damn,' it was freezing. God, why was their technology so primitive?
You sunk yourself in the water. The water crystal blue, you could see everything under. It was beautiful, small fish surrounded you eating the dead skin & gunk off your body. It was enjoyable. Not being able to hold your breath any longer, you threw your head out of the water.
The water where you were now was shallow. It rose only to your belly button.
drying off a little, you heard noise. Turning your head, Harvey dropping off garments. His eyes meet yours. You watched as his pupils scanned your body. You threw yourself back into the water. A million thoughts running through your head. 'How embarrassing,' 'What the actual hell.!?,' I'm sure he didn't mean to,' 'Mannn, why the hell would I do that,'. You peeked your eyes above the water. Harvey's body language was quick & exaggerated. he was obviously panicking, bright red too.
He cupped his hands around his mouth to make sure you would hear him. "I'm so sorry.!!". You heard it faint, but you understood. It wasn't his fault. You watched him skitter away. With his silhouette disappearing into the horizon you got out & dressed. You were now donning a striped, deep brown co-ord. The colour complimented your skin. It was obviously an animal pelt, it felt lovely. The stitching was bad, but it held.
Beginning to walk back home, you see everything Harvey told you about. The women, the men, the scenery. You didn't not enjoy it. Your main problem was your bare feet on the ground. You could feel the small rocks, sticks, & dirt paining your poor soles. You tried to remember which building you were in, but they all looked the same. You didn't want to be lost in a world like this. You heard both men & women talking about you. Men staring at your every curve & edge made you nervous. You walked faster. Even if it upset your poor feet, you had to find Harvey.
Walking faster, you looked down. You didn't want to make eye contact with anyone.
Continuing to walk around, you were grabbed. Your immediate reaction was a call for help. "NO!" Your voice was high & you struggled in the grip.
"Hey, calm down."
Parker.
He was smiling at you, his canines flashing "So, you can be let out now.!? That's great." You didn't know how to react. "Let's go back to my place, Y/n." You wanted to cry. You couldn't cry in front of him though."Parker," your expression aggressive & voice stern. "I don't want to be your mate."
You were told Parker is a prince. But you didn't expect such a drastic reaction from bystanders.
You expected Parker to get more aggressive, or throw a fit. He seemed to be the type with previous interactions. But he looked... Teary.
He grabbed both your wrists, "Y/n, please. You are the most beautiful female I've ever seen." He got on his knees & continued to beg. He was *really* crying. A look of disgust resided on your face. You didn't know how to react to his crying. So, what did you do..? You walked away, hoping to run into Harvey. You still weren't comfortable with staying in Camel's Hump Valley. If Parker had the power of a prince, maybe the crying was just a show since you were in public.
Walking around for a couple more minutes or so, you see your favorite blonde man standing outside of his residence motioning at you. Your noticing him made you ecstatic immediately. Who knows how long you've been looking for him. You walk over to him rapidly, a skip in your step. Upon meeting him, you practically collapse in his open arms.
His look is that of concern, "What took you so long, Y/n? I have a meal ready for you."He tried to pull you inside, but you stayed stuck. He looked at you empathetically. "Is something wrong..?" You chuckle a bit, "Actually Harvey, I don't really feel too comfortable here. I was wondering if we could leave earlier. Like.. Now."
His eyes widened, but not long after you were met with his warm smile. "Of course," he grabbed your hand, "I'll make sure you're safe until we reach a destination you're comfortable with." You felt your heart skip a beat. He was so caring. You felt so bad for leaving, but you couldn't stay. You really needed to find a way back home.
"Is there anything in my den you wish to take, or shall we go now..?"
You shook your head, "Okay," his voice sounded of silk, "I want you to get on," You were perplexed.
Get on..?
Just then, he transformed into the cat. 'Oh... get on.'
You were cautious at first. Could a big cat carry your weight..? You rested yourself on Harvey. He could. As soon as you were secure, he started running. You loved the feeling. The rush. The wind in your hair. His warm body. The scenery. It was amazing, you've never felt anything like this. It was euphoric.
