3RD PERSON POV:

the pretty girl working the cash register of the local gas station sighed as a familiar blonde boy walked in. He waved at her a bit then made his way to the fridges in the back. He grabbed a grape soda and headed towards the cash register.

"Is this all, Vance?" The girl asked. "Y..yeah" he stuttered out a bit. He was nervous, if he got in trouble with the cops again not only would his mom kick him out, but he'd be locked up again.

"Vance? What's troubling you? You aren't your normal confident self" the girl asked. "Nothing! Mind your business!" He said and grabbed his soda and walked to the machine. The girl shrugged and continued on her business working the register.

Some kid was running in and bumped into Vance. "You ruined my score!" Vance yelled, pushing the kid to the ground. Almost everyone ran out of the shop including the kid Vance had beaten up. The girl stood in shock surprised he got away.

"Why don't you go ahead and call them?" Vance told her, sadly. "Vance, don't worry, they aren't coming" his face lit up as he made eye contact with her. "They told me about you, they said you'd be locked up if it happened again." She gave him a soft smile.

"You keep me entertained. How could I let them lock you up again?" She said laughing a bit. He laughed a bit too. "Get yourself a drink and a snack, your probably tired, it's on the house" she said pointing towards the cramped isles.

Vance grabbed a bag of chips and a two grape sodas. "Thank you, Y/N" he smiled and walked away.

Later on the cops HAD shown up, asking how it was going and junk like that. The girl lied, for Vance's sake, jail must not be fun.

"How was Vance today?i didn't get a call, Missus L/N" the cop said, chewing on some donut. "Fine, it was calm actually, I guess he was in a better mood" she said shrugging and scratching a lottery ticket with a penny she stole from the cash register.

"Won anything, L/N?" One of the cops said. "Nah, sucks to be honest, I've always wished to win" Y/N said. "Well, we should be outta here, we can't keep you company unfortunately" the cop said as they both left.

The girl sighed, ever since Vance scared everyone away, no one else has came to the shop. The phone ringing startled her. "Huh? Nobody ever calls.." she mumbled to herself. She picked it up and said "Hi, this is grab-n-go, what do you need?"

"Hey, it's Vance , thanks for helping me out today, it means a lot" the voice said. The girl smiled at the sweet comment. "It's no problem, you keep me entertained everyday! I'd be so bored without you!" She says. "Well yeah, I know, who isn't?" He says. A faint female voice comes up suddenly. "Vance, who's on the phone?" "Oh nobody mom, just the girl who works the gas station" he says. "A girl?" The lady said.

"Yeah uhm I was thanking her, for you know, helping me" he said. There was a loud sigh. "Alright, dinners ready by the way.." she said. "ByeY/NIlltalklaterokaybye" Vance said before hanging up.

The girl smiled and hung the phone back up.

Sure, she was dating some guy from school, but she knew he didn't like her, and she didn't like him, she had her eye on someone else.
