"Cassia!"

At the sound of her name being called in a way too cheery tone for what she could tell was too early and the feel of her bed dipping beside her, Cassia can't help but groan.

"I'm so glad you're home, honey. I missed you and your sister so much." Melissa says, pulling the girl into a hug as soon as she sits up. "You're never allowed to leave us for that long again, okay? At least, not until college, alright?"

Cassia hums, patting her mothers back, squinting her eyes in the brightness of her room in attempts to see the time read on her alarm clock. 8:00am. She blinks, re-reading it and finding it the exact same, only changing to 8:01. "Mom?"

"Yes, honey?"

"I love you."

"I love you too." She smiles, pulling back and holding the girls face in her hands, tucking her hair back for her.

"And you know i missed you."

"I missed you more."

"But." She starts, Melissa's smile falling as she knows what's coming. This was the part she didn't miss. "Could we maybe do this later? Say in, like, i don't know, another five hours?"

"Nope. You know why?" She asks.

"Why?" Cassia whines, letting her eyes fall closed again.

"Because it's time for school." Melissa answers, eyebrows raising in amusement when the girl throws herself backwards, falling against her pillows and pulling the blanket over her head. "Come on, Cass. I already let you sleep in."

"Sleeping in is getting up at eight?!" She asks, truly astonished at what she was hearing. "Getting up early is getting up by eleven, not eight, eight is not a real time, it's a just a number used to force people out of bed just to walk around like zombies all day, and i refuse to participate."

The Mikaelson's share amused glances at her rant.

Melissa furrows a brow, looking at the spot where her daughter lays buried under the blanket before nodding. "Okay then." She says, standing up and walking towards the door, giving Cassia false hope that she was really letting her sleep in. She was wrong. "Your turn."

"Cassia!" A chirpy voice sings, making her groan once more, dreading what she knew was coming. "Time to get up!"

"Go away!"
