Oh to see without my eyes

You would think they would have learned their lesson from the First World War.  That they would see it was a mistake, a flaw in mankind's choices, but they saw nothing.  Domination, power and an opportunity to have the whole world at their disposal is but a goal many have, but with those who want power comes those who fight for their rights, lands and freedom. No one wants to be controlled by one individual. The world is not meant to be under one rule.

Arthur closes his journal with ease he can't help, but hears the taps of rain on his window. It makes his mind wander to what events may occur at today's meeting with the allies. Instead of lingering on the thought he gets ready aware that he is on borrowed time. Arthur gathers all the documents needed and heads out into the pouring rain. He makes his way to the Parliament building where the meeting would be held. He figured that the other allies would be there already awaiting his arrival.
As Arthur entered the building he was greeted with his brother, Alister. No words were exchanged between the two only a nod of the head. Both of them made their way to the meeting room before stopping in front of the door. Arthur sighed as he grabbed the handle and swung open the door. The room was filled with chatter as the allies were already discussing amongst themselves. Arthur made his way to his seat Alister trailing behind. Arthur ignored the chatter trying to get himself situated until Alister caught his attention.
"I don't remember my brother inviting you." Alister glared at the indiviual as Arthur was still engrossed in his papers but keenly listening to his brother.
"I'm a friend aren't I and an ally of England right Artie?" Arthur snapped his head up and was met with a blonde sunkissed, blue eyed american standing in front of him and staring at him along with the other allies.
Arthur stayed silent his eyes looking away as he could not bear to see the man in front of him. It's been years since he's seen the American. The last time they saw each other was at the end of the first war, when america joined in the last few months. Other than that they have been nowhere near each other.
"Why are you here Alfred? Last time I checked your country is not involved in this war." Arthur looked at Alfred, his eyes glaring. He watched as the American was about to open his mouth but was interrupted by Francis one of Arthur's 'good friend'.
"Mon ami it does not matter if he is in the war or not. It's good to have resources in times of need and someone to help a bit especially you. I mean look at your-" Arthur slammed his hand on the table as he stood up and the french man fell silent.
"I need help?! I'm not the one who's country has been taken over! My people are still free and enduring the pains of this war. Your people are trapped under German control, Arthur clenched his jaw his eyes narrowing and glaring at Francis before looking at the American, "And you. Such a hero in these times of need aren't you. You stand back and watch as we fight since. Your president is deeming it unworthy to join since it is on European and Asian soil. You at this point are only a reporter." Arthur wavered in his stance, his body enduring the dull pain of his country. This was a disadvantage of being a personification of a country, but one Arthur can endure.
Arthur tried to regain his stance only to be caught by his brother. He felt so weak all of a sudden his vision becoming blurry. He looked up at Alistair who wore worried eyes. Arthur couldn't help but let his eyes wander to the other allies. He saw that they wore the same worried eyes as his brother. He opened his mouth to speak, but he couldn't. His vision was becoming blurrier and the last thing he saw was Alfred with worried yet scared eyes.
