So this is a little unusual for me, I normally write the stories and then post. This one I am writing and posting as I go so your feedback is VERY welcome.

I am going off a bit on the amnesia plotline and still sticking with it - still letting Selin get the call, but that is the end of the similarities, at least in my brain so far!

***********************************************************************

Selin Atakan was woken from a sound sleep by her ringing phone, she had no idea who would be calling her at midnight.

"Hello?" she croaked out.

"Selin?" the uncertain voice on the other end said.

"Serkan? Serkan Bolat?" Selin was dumbfounded, why was Serkan calling her? She was so confused.

"Yes, can you come? I don't know who else to call."

Selin sat up in bed. She was finally awake. Serkan had gone missing a couple of weeks ago and now he was calling her. Something was off. Why wasn't he calling Eda or Aydan, why was he calling her?

"Where are you?"

Selin could hear something in the background. Another voice came on the line giving her the information as to where Serkan was. He was in Slovenia, he had just come out of a coma and was suffering from amnesia, his memories are only through the beginning of 2020. Selin got an awful feeling in the pit of her stomach, he didn't remember his last year, he didn't remember Eda or that Aydan could travel. He remembered her.

"Yes, I can come, I can be there tomorrow."

When Selin left Istanbul months ago she had vowed to move on and change her life and she had done just that. She had originally thought to set up a PR firm in Denmark but had taken a short trip to Spain to clear her head and heart. While in Spain she had received a call from the man next to her asking for her help to rebuild his reputation that she had worked with Serkan to destroy. After spending countless hours with him, getting to know him, learning just how similar they were in their tastes and interests it wasn't too long before they were dating and falling in love with each other.

Selin reached over to wake him, "Efe." She shook him a bit harder, "Efe, wake up."

Efe reached for Selin in his sleepy state. As much as she appreciated the affection, she needed him to wake up and pay attention.

"Efe, wake up!"

"I'm awake" he grumbled stretching, "What's wrong?"

"I just got a call from Serkan."

That had Efe sitting up. "Serkan? What the hell? Why is he calling you? Where is he? Did they find him? Why didn't Eda call?"

"That's part of the problem. I talked to someone at the hospital that he's at, he just woke from a coma and he thinks that it's the beginning of 2020, he doesn't know Eda. What the hell am I supposed to do? I told them I would go there tomorrow."

Selin didn't want to do this, she was in a good place with Efe, she didn't want to jeopardize her relationship with Efe and she had done a lot of soul searching over the past months. Eda was a good person who had never wanted to hurt her, she remembered some of the truly kind and fun times with her and she couldn't imagine the pain that Eda was suffering though. And Aydan, she had already lost one son, she couldn't lose another son. No, she needed Efe to help her figure out what to do.

"I can tell you one thing you aren't going to do Selin, you aren't going without me."

Efe reached over and turned on the bedside lamp. It was an hour earlier in Istanbul. "I think that we need to call Eda and Aydan. I think they need to know that he is alive and where he is. It will be up to them to decide to go, but knowing Eda, she doesn't back down from anything. It will be tough on Eda but it will be harder on her not telling her anything about the call."

Selin agreed with Efe, she didn't really relish having to call either Aydan of Eda. She hadn't left on the best of terms with either of them but she knew that she was in a better place now.

Selin took a deep breath and placed the call to Aydan, the phone rang twice before it was answered, "Hello?"

"Seyfi? Hello, it's Selin, it is very important that I speak with Aydan, is she awake?"

"Selin hanim, Aydan hanim and Eda hanim are both awake, unfortunately neither of them have been sleeping very well since Serkan bey went missing. I can get her for you."

"Wait, please! Seyfi! Can you get both of them, or put me on speaker please?"

Seyfi was puzzled. This was Selin hanim, she had actually said please? Twice? "Tamam, I'll get them right away."

Selin reached over to hold Efe's hand gaining strength from him. She knew that this was going to be a difficult conversation to have with these two women. Selin still loved Serkan, but as a friend, not in the obsessive way that she once did. It had taken therapy and introspection and someone she actually did love to show her that.

Aydan came on the line, "Selin? Why are you calling so late? Eda and I are on the line."

"I apologize for calling so late, but I just received a call myself tonight not ten minutes ago from Serkan." Selin heard Eda and Aydan's anguished cries.

"But why is he calling you Selin?" cried Eda.

"Oh Eda, I am so sorry that this happened to you, so sorry, I truly mean it" said Selin.

Aydan and Eda looked at each other, surprised at the words that were coming out of Selin's mouth, this was not the woman that they knew.

Selin continued, "I know that you are surprised to hear this from me, but please believe me, I do mean this. I got a call from Serkan asking if I could come. I was confused as to why he would ask for me. It didn't make sense to me. Someone else came on the line when I asked where he was, they told me he was in Slovenia, that he had recently come out of a coma."

She really didn't want to have to break the next part to Eda but Efe gripped her hand tighter in encouragement.

Eda said, "I still don't understand Selin, why did he call you?"

"I'm sorry Eda, I asked them the same thing. They said that Serkan is suffering from amnesia, he thinks that he is in the beginning of 2020. He hasn't met you yet. He doesn't know that Aydan hanim can leave the house. I'm so sorry."

Eda's sobs were coming through the phone loud and clear making Selin cry.

Through her tears Selin explained, "Aydan hanim? Eda? I told the hospital that I would go there tomorrow. I think that you should come too. I won't be coming alone, I'll have my partner with me. Eda? I will do whatever I can to help you and Serkan, I promise, tamam?"

"Selincim, let's talk first thing in the morning tamam? I will call you and we can schedule flights. Maybe we can fly in and pick you up?" asked Aydan.

"I'd like that. We can then figure out what we are going to do."

Selin hung up with Aydan and Eda and turned to Efe. He wrapped his arms around her, giving her all the love and support that he could, drawing her back down to the bed. She wouldn't get much sleep, nor would he, Efe knew that this was hard for Selin. She had worked to move past Serkan and she had grown stronger as a person. She was ashamed of the things that she had done and the person she had allowed herself to become. Efe wanted everyone to see the strong, confident and beautiful woman inside and out that he saw each and every day and hoped that this wouldn't cause her any setbacks.
