"So how are you feeling? Do you want to take a break or do you want to continue?"
Serkan looked up at the clock, they had been talking for a little over an hour, he really wanted to keep talking, "Can we keep going? If Eda and I were broken up I don't understand how we actually got back together to the point where we were getting married. You said we loved each other but I'm missing how we got beyond that."
"I didn't say that your relationship was always easy did I? No, you had some bumps, Selin threw some in there and when some of her misdeeds finally came to light she decided to leave for a fresh start. When Engin proposed to Pyril . . . . ."
Serkan sat up, "Did you say that Engin finally proposed to Pyril? He finally got the courage up to ask her out?"
Aydan laughed at that, "A lot of that had to do with you and Eda finally being together, it gave Engin courage. But yes, they got married New Year's Eve. The picture of Eda in the red dress is from that night at the celebration."
"Anyways Serkan, Eda always believed in you even when you didn't believe in yourself. There was an issue with a roof collapse, everyone blamed you but Eda, she did the research until she could find that you weren't at fault. It turned out the Efe changed the printer settings. He said it was a mistake but you never believed him, Eda got him to confess. This was tough for Eda because she worked for Efe. After you broke up with her, she quit but she really needed a job so Efe hired her. She really is very talented. And yes, you were broken up at the time of the roof collapse, this was before she found out about her parents. You managed to run Efe out of town but that didn't help much because he was only a front for a secret partner." Aydan got up to stretch her legs.
"Where was I? Oh yes, Efe's secret partner. This was the biggest shock, but mostly to Eda because it turned out to be her grandmother, Semiha Yildrim."
"Eda's grandmother is Semiha Yildrim of Yildrim Enterprises? She's loaded, I thought you said Eda was on scholarship?"
"I did say that. Eda and her hala do not have a relationship with her grandmother. She didn't accept Eda's mother and disinherited Eda's father as a result. So no, Eda hates her grandmother. So that evil witch bought the shares using Efe Akman as a cover. And the worst part is that the witch came to town just as you and Eda were working on reconciling, the picture from the skating party was taken the night before she showed up, it was a skating party to celebrate Eda's hala's birthday. We were all there, it was wonderful." Aydan had a smile on her face thinking of the memory, they did have so much fun.
Serkan was looking at the picture again, he could see the joy in Eda's face as well as his own. He could also see the love in both of their eyes, he could recognize it for what it was.
"Semiha hanim hates the Bolats, she informed Eda that if she found out that she was involved with you that she would destroy you. She had managed to capture Aptekin and have him thrown in prison in the Bahamas on trumped up charges so Eda knew that she wasn't bluffing. Eda was defiant, on New Years' Eve the two of you were celebrating, you had just reconciled, Semiha hanim had you arrested on phony charges. She planned on destroying you personally, professionally, and financially if Eda didn't leave you. She felt trapped, so she made sure that you were released from jail and then broke up with you in front of Semiha hanim the next night."
"That old woman sounds crazy and evil. Eda had to be scared out of her mind."
"Well my Edacim is made of pretty tough stuff. Two days later you were going to Paris on a business trip, sometime between the breakup and the Paris trip the two of you managed to make up and Eda snuck on to the plane and proposed to you with your original rings. The trip ended up getting canceled so you evened up the proposals and made your own proposal to her later that night."
