It was close to the start of homeroom class and a girl with short black hair was seated at one of the desks. She had been there for the past several minutes, waiting for the rest of her classmates and homeroom teacher to arrive. While she waited, she thought about what she had to go through in order to be able to attend UA University. From her training to her studies, she had done her absolute best to prepare for the entrance exam for the most prestigious hero course in the country, if not the world. Her hard work bore fruit and as an added bonus in her eyes, she was accepted through her efforts alone.

Though her family had attempted to get her enrolled via recommendation through their many connections, they had been a little late on that regard as the amount of recommendations for this particular year was full. She remembered how upset her father was and how distraught her mother was. It was a good thing that she didn't place all her hopes to attend the best university for hero training through only that means. Her father wanted to show off their status by doing that but she was secretly glad that she got in without it for many reasons.

One of the biggest reasons was to show her parents that she could do things on her own and that she never needed things to be done for her, especially now that she was of age at eighteen years old. Before becoming accepted to UA via her own efforts, for as long as she could remember, most things were done for her and she didn't have any control in her life. From a young age, she was taught how to interact properly with other elite people. How to hold herself, when to speak and how to speak. What kind of behavior to display. What kind of appearance to portray and how to maintain it. What to learn regarding studies and training. How to keep her emotions and feelings from showing. And so much more. She was never allowed to be herself and was taught to do what was expected of her because of who her family is. For her family, the Kodai family, were amongst the wealthy and well connected with several other powerful families in the nation. And so, she had a much different life than almost all others around her age as she grew up.

She didn't mind it too much however because even though she did resent being controlled throughout her life, she was able to accept it. And it was all due to the fact that she was able to make a couple close friends who she had known for a long time. She could still remember the day they had met each other at the park so many years ago. And oddly enough, it was on a day where she had one of her rare tantrums because she wanted to go to the park and play with the other kids instead of studying for school. That one action of hers brought her into contact with two people who would become her best friends for life.

And it was because of her best friends that she was able to keep going and not go crazy from all the prim and proper, and also very stressful, antics that her family had made her go through. From attending social events with other notable figures, to attending private schools and even being forced to endure interactions with people who wanted her hand that she wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole. All of her experiences had molded her into being unable to express herself well and also made her become a girl with very few words spoken and even fewer emotions shown.

But even with all of those problems that she has, her friendships with her close friends never faltered because of it. They had stuck by her side through all the unpleasant things she had to go through and even helped her through many of them. For that, she was eternally grateful of them and had promised herself that she would be there for them too and always cherish their friendships no matter what.

She continued thinking about some more things about her past and how she was finally able to take the first step to get away from all that until the classroom door opened. Moving her gaze slightly towards it, she saw two girls walk in together as they chatted away. One had red hair tied into a side ponytail while the other had shoulder length green hair. An almost unnoticeable expression of realization and happiness formed on her face as she locked eyes with them, who smiled widely at seeing her as well.
