They followed as Michelle went to the dining room and grabbed two cups of apple cider and handed one to Max. "Thanks." he smiled at her while staring. "So um, how's the party?" Max tried starting a conversation. "Pretty lame actually, it's my parent's coworkers and friends. They do the same thing every year." she shrugged and looked at Max whose eyes haven't left her face the whole time. "I do have a semi-entertaining job, I've got candy duty when I'm not trying to get Ernie and Jay to stop harassing kids." Michelle smiled and walked over to Dani. "By the way Dani, I love your costume, very authentic too." Michelle spoke. "Thank you!" Dani said and she wiped her hands. "I really like yours too." Dani began and she looked at Michelle's outfit. "Of course...I couldn't wear anything like that because I don't have any...what do you call them Max? Yabos?" Dani and Michelle both looked at Max as he choked on his cider. Michelle laughed and Max awkwardly looked at her and then at Dani.

"Max likes your yabos." Dani said and Max's face was full of fear and when he looked over at Michelle, she was already looking at him. "In fact, he loves 'em." Dani shrugged with a proud smile on her face. Max continued giving Dani a horrified look as Michelle cleared her throat and walked closer to Dani. "I'm real into witches, myself." Michelle said. "Really?" Dani asked and Michelle handed her a handful of candy. "We just learned about those sisters in school." Dani said as she unwrapped a lollipop "Oh, you mean the Sanderson  sisters?" Michelle asked and Dani nodded "I know all about them! My mom's best friend used to run the museum! In fact, I even did some research on the witches too. I'm the president of the Witches Club at school too." Michelle told Dani. "There's a museum about 'em? And a club?" Dani perked up. "Well used to be a museum but they had to shut it down because..." Michelle leaned closer to Dani "Some real freaky things started to happen there." she said, "Well why don't we go to this uh old Sanderson house?" Max proposed and Michelle stood back up and looked at Max while Dani looked up at her brother and shook her head vigorously. 

"Well c'mon! Make a believer out of me." Max said as he looked into Michelle's eyes as she smiled. "Okay. Let me get changed." she continued smiling as she ran upstairs. Max walked a little farther and watched in awe as she ran up the stairs. "Max. I'm not going up there. My friends at school told me all about that place. It's weird!" Dani whined to Max. "Dani this is the girl of my dreams." Max grabbed Dani's arm without his eyes leaving the stairs Michelle had just run up. "So take her to the movies like a normal person!" Dani spoke "Dani!" Max yelled through his teeth. "Look." Max kneeled next to Dani and folded his hands "Just do this one thing for me and I'll do anything you say." he looked at his sister. "Please." he practically begged and Dani looked off into space with a smile plastered on her face. "Please. Please!" Max continued "Okay...okay." Dani stopped him. "Next year we go trick or treating as Wendy and Peter Pan--" she stopped and bent down to his level "With tights or it's no deal." she finished and as she said tights, Max brought his face farther away from hers in horror. 

He looked back up the stairs and Dani began to walk away but he grabbed her arm and pulled her back "Okay! Okay! Deal." he spoke. He looked back at Dani and heard Michelle come down the stairs to his attention was immediately directed back to her. She walked downstairs wearing a tight black tank top, her favorite necklace, and a cardigan overtop that was covered in bats and skulls, and pumpkins. She also wore black jeans and combat boots. "You guys ready to go?" she asked "Yeah." Max smiled at her and they followed Michelle outside. "Legend has it that over a hundred children's bones are buried within these walls." Michelle said as they approached the house. "Oh great." Dani exclaimed. They approached the house and opened the gate then went up the door and all coughed as they entered due to the extreme amount of cobwebs and dust.

"I can't...see...a thing." Dani spoke as she used her cheap lantern for light. "There's a light switch around here somewhere." Michelle said as she grazed her hands over the walls, looking for a light switch. "Found a lighter." Max said with a smile on his face as he walked over to Michelle. She smiled back at him as she flipped the light switch and Max flipped the lighter closed "Woah..." he spoke as everyone looked around. They all walked around but Michelle stopped as she reached the book. "This is the spellbook of Winifred Sanderson. It was given to her by the devil himself. The book is bound in human skin and contains the recipes for all of her darkest spells." Michelle spoke as Max put his chin on her shoulder and Dani looked up at her. "I get the picture." Dani said. "What's that?" Max looked over at a candle. "That's the Blackflame Candle." Michelle whispered to him and nudged Dani "Perk up and I'll give you some extra candy when we get back." Michelle whispered to Dani as Max walked over to the candle.

"The Blackflame Candle...made from the fat of a hanged man." Max read creepily. "Legend says that on a full moon, it will raise the spirits of the dead when lit by a virgin on Halloween night." Max looked up at Michelle after reading. Max turned around the pillar and came back around with his lighter in hand "So let's light the sucker and meet the old broads." Max said. "Wanna do the honors?" Max looked at Michelle. "No thanks." she stared at him "Why? Worried the flame won't be black?" he looked at her as she rolled her eyes "You can do it even though you don't have to prove you're a virgin." Michelle said "Ouch." he chuckled and put his hand over his heart. As Michelle looked at Dani a cat began making loud noises and jumped on Max's shoulder and held onto his neck as Max shouted and fell to the ground. Dani grabbed Michelle's arm and held on for dear life. 

"Stupid cat!" Max yelled as he rubbed his neck. "Okay Max, you've had your fun. It's time to go." Dani said as she hugged Michelle. "Come on Michelle." she said as she took Michelle's hand and began walking away. "Max, she's right, let's go. We can go hang out at my house or go see a movie or something." Michelle said with an angry tone. "Oh come on! It's just a bunch of hocus pocus." Max said and both Michelle and Dani stopped walking to turn and face him. "Max I'm not kidding this time! It's time to go!" Dani said before Max shrugged her off and lit the lighter. "Max no!" Michelle shouted as Max lit the candle and it immediately turned black and the wind whispered in the house.
