I know I am loved

My primary love language is a mixture of all five; words of affirmation, acts of service, receiving gifts, quality time, and physical touch. it's making and eating food together.

Before the food preparation begins a simple question is asked, "Have you eaten yet? Are you hungry?" And that will make the process begin. The cooking starts, and the acts of service begin, remembering what they like and dislike, how they prefer their food cooked, even if they like hot or cold drinks.

Once the food is made it slowly turns into gift-giving. The prepared meal is given with care and a sweet gentleness that can only be described as love when it's time to eat.

Sometimes the quality time is spent when we're cooking together, while other times it starts when we sit down and eat. But a meal almost always brings a conversation along. Talking about both nothing and everything all at once.

Physical touch can be shown in many ways; it can start when the plate is passed, or when a hand is gently held. Many times it doesn't happen during the meal but afterwards, when someone is washing the dishes and they are wordlessly helped, hands gently brush up against each other when a freshly cleaned plate is passed to be dried, sometimes it can be through a gentle embrce after the dishes have been put away to show appreciation for the meal.

So, when my siblings give me a cup full of ice because they know how easily I overheat, and they know I like cold things over hot, or when my other sibling makes sure they know all of my allergies before they even begin to make pie because they know I can’t even eat apples without doubling over in pain, and even when a blanket is wordlessly draped around my brother and I, because we both forget to take our anemia pills deep into the autumn nights; i know I am loved
