Chapter Two:
Misty's POV
It was another night of my mom coming home late with her boyfriend. "Mom, I am going to Pirate Ship Park to meet up with Blaze!" I yelled. I knew she probably didn't care so I bolted out the door. The sun was slowly setting and the wind was picking up speed by the minute.
"Over here!" I answered back. "Hey Blaze so why am I here?" I questioned Blaze. "Well I thought we were going to talk about prom dresses and how we are going to scrape together enough money." She answered politely. Even though both of our families had enough money neither of us had the courage to ask them for money. Blaze had a smile on her face as she showed me her prom dress she found online. "Hey Blaze that dress totally goes with your blue locks!" I retorted. "Very funny Misty Lynn Wood not everyone is born with perfect hair," she told me and I flipped my hair just to get on her nerves. I watched as Blaze stuck out her tongue at me and continued looking at prom dresses for me. Just then a lanky boy named Sheldon Vance who I know from school struts up to me. I wrinkled my nose up in disgust. " w-would you like to g-go to the prom with me?" He asks me stuttering slightly. I furrowed my eyebrows at him confused. I thought everyone knew that Kruse was asking me to prom. "Yeah.....right!" I say sarcastically. His eyes widen and his shoulders slump. He glanced up at me one more time as he turns to leave I see something flash across his eyes. Hurt? Anger? I can't put my finger on it. "Don't you feel bad Misty?" Blaze asks me questionably. "Nah, I'm waiting for Kruse to ask me," kruse and I have been best friends since 2nd grade and we weren't dating until he asked me to dance at the end of the year school dance. We have been dating ever since. "Ooh does he like you?" I open my mouth to respond, but the words fizzle out as I see a big white van pull up to the side of the curb. Who in the world would be at Pirate Ship Park at 8:45 on a Thursday night? Other that Blaze and I. We stare at the van for a solid two and a half minutes. "M-maybe we should g-go," Blaze stutters, sounding as scared as I felt. I nod and walk slowly over to the tree where I put all of my belongings. I scoop up my black, bedazzled purse and and sling it over my shoulder. "Bla-," I begin as I turn around. But my words were instantly replaced by an ear piercing scream as I run into a brick wall of a man wearing a plain white shirt and jeans. He lets out a low rumble which I assume is a laugh, and picks me up with ease, flinging me over his shoulder. He walks calmly over to the sidewalk. He then puts me down, shoves a sack over my head, and tosses me into the van. "Misty!" A voice screams out over the park. That is the last thing I hear everything goes black. When I finally wake up my head is buzzing and I can feel goosebumps elevating up my body. It's cold, dark, and I'm scared. I can see faint shadows in this cold Misty room. I don't understand why this is happening to me or what is happening for that matter. My heart is racing as I hear s door opening, and I realize I am no longer alone.
