TW: Needles, Hospital Setting,

Your breathing was shallow, and you kept feeling the needle in your arm squirming around. It was a horrid feeling. Your head throbbed and rang endlessly, as if it was about to implode.

"Hrnggg..." You groan as you attempt to sit up in the bed, feeling the pulling of wires and cables on your body. Your eyes slowly flutter open as you feel around for something to hold onto. Your hand lands on a cold metal bar, which turns out to be the handle for the gurney. Your pupils dilate and your eyelids seemingly disappear as you pop your eyes open in horror.

"I'm in a hospital." You mumbled, letting your thoughts trail off your tongue. You look down to see the classic hospital gown, in which that you could tell, had no buttocks coverage whatsoever. Your eyes scan the room, floating over a few "Get well!" Gifts and flowers that were placed on a desk in front of the bed.

There was a TV hung above said desk, and some random news channel that you did not recognize was playing. You didn't remember turning on the tv, so you assumed someone else did. And, of course, that thought was confirmed at the sight of a goat-woman slouched on a window/couch nook to the right of the gurney. The fur on the top of her head stood upright and messy, while she appeared to not have slept in days, with eye-bags painted under her closed eyes.

As an infant, you had been adopted by the Dreemur family while Asriel was still around. Toriel took you in as one of her own, and ignored the fact that you weren't of her blood. If anything, she probably thought of you as her own blood anyway. You were found adjacent to the hole that lead to the underground. Asgore was the one that found you, and took you home immediately, seeing that you were without any caretaker. Now that you think about it, that's probably considered kidnapping...

"Ma- Mrs. Toriel?" You call out softly, looking at the woman for a response. She stirs softly, your anticipation rising. Her eyes open, though she appears to still be half asleep. Toriel stretches her arms widely, and then yawns, placing her paw in front of her mouth. She stares at the floor, and then glanced up at the bed. She has to do a double take (lmao), and shoots up from her spot on the couch, making you jump from the sudden movement.

"Strudel!" Your adoptive mother cheers, letting the nickname she gave you as a child make it's way into the air. She claps both her paws over her mouth, tears threatening to fall at the corners of her eyes. She lets out almost a squeal of relief, and throws herself onto you, embracing you in a warm bear hug. She cried softly into your shoulder as you sat there in shock, not knowing what to do.

"Mrs. Toriel..." You put your arms around her, slinking them between the two of you and pushing them between her arms, letting your hands rest on her back. You sigh, letting the woman calm down as she recollects herself.

"...What happened...?" Your voice is just above a whisper, making sure not to disturb your mother. She steps away from you, and slowly swipes the tears away from her cheeks. She looks at you, then the floor, and back at you again.

"You had another episode." Her shoulders relax as she intertwines her hands with one another.

"You were asleep for 36 hours." Her eyes began to tear up again, and her voice breaks.

"You passed out in the living room. You fell square on your face. It was pretty funny." Another voice chimed in, following the sound of a door closing.

"Kris?"

You turn your head in the direction of where the voice came from, and low and behold, it was your adoptive sister, Kris. She shook her head and smiled, and approached the edge of your bed. She wrapped you in a small hug as you smiled softly. Once she stepped back, you realized the whole family was in the room.

Well,

Everyone except Asriel.

...

The family began to fill you in on what happened in the past few days, Asgore constantly asking if you still felt any symptoms. You replied every time, reassuring him that you felt no pain whatsoever, and that you felt more refreshed than ever.

"Maybe because I slept for 36 hours, that's just my guess." You say, smiling and shrugging your shoulders. You earn a bit of laughter from the Dreemurs, and the air finally begins to settle.

A nurse arrived swiftly, and began checking your reflexes and standard health. Once that was done, the nurse smiled and went to go get the doctor.

Everyone was chattering about, almost completely forgetting that you were in a short coma. Then, the doctor entered.

"You have 2 options. You may stay another day, and will be able to leave the next day with a few medications," They continued. "or you can leave today, but you will need to take a nurse home to monitor your behaviors."

You looked at everyone, and Toriel and Asgore looked at one another, and nodded in agreement.

"She'll be coming home with us."

You smile brightly as the doctor nods and leaves the room.

You realize that Toriel is now staring at Asgore, a visage of frustration and anger on her face.

"I thought we agreed that she would stay?" Toriel said to her husband, who crossed his arms and looked away, huffing.

"Well, we did, but I changed my mind." He said, still looking away.

"why must you be so difficult?" She stood up, staring at her stubborn husband.

"Hmm, maybe because you don't let me make my own decisions, and that now was one I could?" He whipped his head towards her, and stared angrily at her.

" This is your- our daughter's health we're talking about! How can you twist my intentions this way?!" She spouted, turning away from him

They always fight like this. You thought to yourself. Anytime that they get the chance, or when something doesn't go their way, they always have these mini battles. I can almost see their SOULS dodging each others attacks.

"Well maybe if you hadn't had an affair with that DAMNED SKELETON, we wouldn't be here!" Asgore rose his voice, making Toriel fume with anger.

"Firstly, I did NOT have an affair with Sans. I don't know why you assume I did." She walks up to her husband, pointing at his chest accusingly, looking up and staring daggers at him.
"Secondly, don't you DARE raise your voice at me. Especially in front of the kids."

Finally, they paused from their fight, and looked over at you and Kris. You both were sitting on the bed, with the 😐 face on. Toriel sighs, and apologizes to the both of you, before shooting one last mean look at Asgore before he left the room.

"Why did I ever get married..." She massages the bridge of her nose and sighs, looking over at her two children, a smile replacing the scowl she had a few seconds ago.

"Well, let's get you home Y/N."
