"Its been years since the gang got back together... zoinks man."
Shaggy had joined the military, as per his parents wishes. Scooby joined him, after all it would be cruel to seperate these two lifelong best friends. After they left the military, Scooby and shaggy lived in a studio apartment with funding from Shaggy's parents. Daphne became a homebody, rarely leaving her house. It had been ages since anyone saw her, no one knew how she was doing these days. Velma worked part-time at a lab, after all, that's what she wanted with her life wasn't it? Fred had it worst of all, he had been living out of his van. But without a job, unable to pay his taxes as an adult— the mystery machine got repossessed.
All this until one fateful day, each and every ex member of Mystery Inc. received an anonymous email (Fred, at the homeless shelter, received a letter with a deep red seal — as he didn't have a computer). The mysterious message read, "Mystery Incorporated, I have a mission for you. I know you have been disbanded for years now; However, I am in desperate need of your help. It would be favorable for you to agree, any assistance at all would be much obliged." Followed by a set of coordinates and a date for meeting up at the bottom of the message."Jinkies, I haven't felt a rush of excitement like this since I tried opium for the first time." Velma was on board.
"Jeepers, I..." She hesitated,
"Daphne, Honey! Time for dinner!"
"Coming Mom!" She didn't want to make any rash decisions.Shaggy, or better known as Norville, had become a freelance journalist. Day in day out he would work at the office, Scooby worked alongside him. He got home late and was sifting through junk mail when he stumbled across the email.
"Its been years since the gang got back together... zoinks man."
"Ruts up, Rorville?"
(Whats up, Norville)
"Check this email scoob, that's like pretty ominous, man."
"Reah, rit ris, rou rhink re rould accept rit?"
(Yeah, it is, you think we should accept it?)
"Well, it's been a whole long time since the last mystery." Scooby and Norville both accepted.Fred was the most ecstatic about receiving such a letter. Of course he accepted instantly.
The gang was given a date, a couple months out, to decide whether or not they would arrive.
Fred had already procured a job awhile back, though he didn't earn enough — especially with tax deductions— to be able to afford a house (not in this economy). Over the course of a few months he saved up as much as he could to buy the old mystery machine, wasn't worth much in monetary value. Yet it was priceless to Fred.
Soon the fateful day arrived, and they were all there.
A tall woman in red stood before them,
"I'm glad to see you got the memo."
Her face was hidden behind a large, matching red hat.Norville gulped. Fred looked like his head would explode. Scooby wasn't listening. Daphne arrived fashionably late, and after all these years still fashionable as ever. Velma arrived with her.
[Earlier]
Velma's phone rang from across the room, a number she hadn't seen in a very long time appeared on the screen. She picked up.
"Hey Velma.."
"Jeepers! Daphne?!"
"Yeah, um, did you get that email too?"
"Yeah, I did. Are you going?"
"Thinking about it."
"Well, uh, do you need a ride?"
Velma held her breath. Her best friend, who ghosted her years ago, had just called her for the first time in years. There was a chance to see her again, she didn't want to miss it.
"..."
no response.
"...Daphne?"
"Oh, sorry, yeah. Thanks Velma."
"Yeah no proble-"

The phonecall ended.[present]
Now the gang all stood before a mysterious woman, she had a confident air about her. No one wanted to be the first to break the silence.
"Well, thank you all for coming."
They all murmured in agreement.
"Tough crowd, well, the reason I've called for you here is because I need your help,"
They waited with anticipation, holding their breaths.
"I want you to break into the British Museum, retrieve the stolen artifacts, and return them to where they belong."A/n: wow 717 words 🤩 tysm for readinggg I'll be posting more soon 🤭. I really wanted to branch out and write a mystery story... so I did! 😮 hope u enjoyed xoxo (criticism not welcome).
