Lullaby for the Lost

I went so high that I reached the sky

the angels were waiting for me

Their light was so beautiful and bright

that I temporarily lost my sight

They whispered soft words of comfort

asking me why I had come this night

I tried to speak but the words would not come

So, I laid there bathing in their divine light

letting them hover above me

My heart beating to the fluttering of their wings
