Chapter 13

"Cross your bike!" Wrecker cried out looking at the heap on the floor. Crosshair shrugged, "Bikes can be replaced people can't", he grunted. Tech noticed the hint of pain spread across his twin's features. The marksman actually looked worn out and ready to collapse but that would have to wait. Tech made sure to keep a strict eye on Crosshair even when he had his back turned as he spoke to Rex, Cody and Fives about what had happened. 

An individual stood off to the side dressed in black leather with a dark red leather jacket. The man looked like a biker too since he stood next to a Ducati that was black and red. The man's eyes never stopped moving. Hunter looked up from his conversation with Omega, the girl insisted she wanted to know so he explained the rest of it, the bits he never finished which left her in deep thought. Hunter stood up intending on checking on Wrecker when the man to the side caught his eye, Hunter walked over to Wrecker who was eyeing the man himself since he had moved to Crosshairs side. 

"Who's that?" Wrecker asked his older brother who shrugged, it was impossible to tell with the helmet on. But it was shortly removed by none other than Fives who managed to get his childish ways around anything. The man looked moodier than Crosshair and that was saying something, he was also glaring at Cody. 

"Maul?" Echo said with uncertainty at the older man in front of him. "It's been a while," Maul said. Looking over at the batch who seemed to be not impressed by what was going on. Echo only nodded moving over to Fives to ask his twin something. Crosshair remained silent listening to Cody about their next move as Rex and Jesse put Rampart in the back of the police van. 

"Crosshair?" Maul's voice made him turn around, "Are you going to introduce me to your husband or not?" He cheekily said. Crosshair only frowned as he led Maul over to his family. 

"Everyone meet Dareth or better known as Maul. He is on my elite squad, I worked with him in the past. He can be trusted. He also works at Omega and Hera's school, he is a science teacher. Obviously undercover" Crosshair whispered that last part as Omega and Hera came over to the group. "This is Wrecker, Echo, Tech, Omega and Hera" Crosshair said while he pointed at them all. He was about to introduce Hunter when the man beat him to it, "And I'm Hunter, Crosshairs husband". Maul nodded, taking in Crosshairs husband, he smirked when he saw the protective look almost to say 'Don't even try it, he's mine'. Maul just smiled as he looked at the marksman's left hand to see no rings. However he wasn't the only one to notice, Echo's eyes drifted down to Crosshairs left hand. He inwardly gasped, he would ask later on, now wasn't the time. 

"Nice to meet you all, I can promise you all. I will watch over Crosshair when we go galavanting" Maul smirked as he spoke he noticed Hunter was tightening his fists slightly. "It was nice meeting you but I have to get going now, Crosshair. Do you want a lift?" Maul turned to Crosshair with a grin, the marksman only mumbled something like two minutes. Maul smirked, waving bye as he walked over to his bike picking up Crosshairs dirty helmet. He grabbed a wipe and cleaned the blood off it while the marksman did what he had to do.

"Where you off to at this godly hour?" Tech asked, noticing the sun was setting. "I need to swing by father's and then pop to the hospital. Dareth’s going to give me a lift. I should be back by 9. So don't make Dinner for me" Crosshair explained giving his twin a brief hug before he trudged off to where Maul was. Echo frowned, he kissed Tech's cheek and said he’d be back in a minute while he jogged over to Fives who looked at him with curiosity.

"Fives, how much do you know about Maul?" Echo asked, he had little info on the man who was getting ready to leave. "I will see what I can do," Fives said as he climbed into his car after loading the broken bike into the back of the police truck which belonged to Cody. The man was unhappy about it but someone had to take the bike to the scrap yard. Crosshair had insisted they did so and destroyed it, since it was his spare one. His original was in the garage at dads, Kix and Jesse didn't mind the marksman crashing at their place since they had a spare house attached to theirs. It was a converted garage, Jesse had done it out years ago with Wrecker for the giant when he used to crash at theirs quite regularly when the others were away or busy.
