Chaeyoung woke up from his slumber. He had arrived home not long ago as he had stayed up all night gathering inspiration for his art projects at his studio. He was a devoted researcher and studied diligently all kind of new trends: fashion, design, music, you name it. The world was full of marvelous creations and he had the vision of projecting them through his own hands. He was never satisfied with the results but he did his best each time.

He yawned then stretched, cursing at the wind while looking at the clock near his bed. Too early in the morning for his liking but as he usually did, he had to carry on and look after her younger sister. He took a speedy shower and went straight to the dining room knowing Tzuyu was already waiting for him.

-Morning, Tzu
-Good morning, oppa
-Are you excited? -asked Chaeyoung

Today was special. That fancy ballet academy Tzuyu attended to had finally chose her as the main role of the recital. Tzuyu was nothing but smiles since the announcement. Having Chaeyoung and Dahyun as her supporters, she was determined to show them her best.

-Yes, I am but also I’m a bit nervous -admitted the girl
-That’s normal but do not worry. -replied her brother. You had practiced enough to do this. You got this, alright? Do not doubt yourself, you hear me? Because Son Tzuyu is what?

Tzuyu glanced at her brother. Chaeyoung always tried to encourage her and cheer her up but sometimes it was kind of embarrassing. Tzuyu knew his intentions were always good but will he ever stop treating her as a baby? As if he could read her mind, Chaeyoung went to his side and back hugged her, taking her arms firmly and moving them around as she was some kind of doll.

-Come on, you know it. Son Tzuyu is…?
-The best -Tzuyu mumbled
-That’s right. –Chaeyoung smiled. Son Tzuyu is the best. Never forget it.

The event was held at night but performers had to do a rehearsal before the show so Tzuyu went to the academy after having breakfast driven by her personal chauffer.

The Son residence was cold and lonely when she was absent and, as in daily basis, Chaeyoung went straight to his bedroom to catch some sleep. He only woke up to spent time with Tzuyu before her going to school. Chaeyoung hated that place but until Tzuyu were an adult he would have to endure it.

Since Chaeyoung’s mother passing, his father became indifferent towards them. He was never a devoted father as he never truly wanted to have kids. Chaeyoung still remembers when his mother adopted Tzuyu against his father´s will. As his mother was an heiress and all the money the Son family had was because of her inheritances, her wishes were their commands. If she said Tzuyu was her daughter, then no one had the right to question it. Mr. Son had to accept the defeat and pretend in front of others that he was a filial father to his kids but Chaeyoung knew best.

Chaeyoung was overprotective of his sister as she was the only family he had. Even if he hated his father, he could never hurt Tzuyu so he stayed with her and tried to be for her when needed. Maybe when Tzuyu grew-up, they could move abroad and have a peaceful life but it wasn’t the moment yet.

Chaeyoung passed by Tzuyu’s bedroom and heard the bark of Kaya, the pet dog that he and Dahyun gifted Tzuyu a month ago. The small dog was a good company as she calmed down Tzuyu when anxious.

He was playing with the dog when he heard heavy steps approaching. Knowing the only person that lived with them was their father, Chaeyoung did his best to remain calm while seeing him coming his way.

The old man was imposing not because of his physicalframe but for his twisted mind and sour words. Being a rich and good looking widowed man, Mr. Son had plenty of women chasing him bit no one dared to marry him. Sometimes it was because of his dry character but most of the times it was because of the young troublemaker that lived in there.
