"ugh this horrid dress-" y/n said, trying to fix the sleeves. "Mama- whatever this event we are going to better be worth it... this dress is dreadful". Y/n walked down the stairs quickly, trying not to get the rim of the dress dirty. Her mother adjusted the head accessory she was wearing, so it lined up with with her neatly braided hair. "Ugh, why the bloody hell are we even going to this event-" y/ns mother cut her off almost immediately "Because the kings heir is looking for a princess, and you do have the looks to be a queen" her mother said in a soothing voice, "What?!? That's horrible!! I don't want to become a princess-" y/n snapped, rolling her eyes as she adjusted the ribbon. "Listen, if you marry the prince we can finally move out of this small home and into the mansion. This would certainly benefit the entire family-" Your mother started blabbering, "What ever" you scoffed before putting on your heels, making your mother sigh in disappointment. "why don't you send my sister there, she would most definitely be a better house wife then me-" You said, in a convincing tone. "She is also going, why do you think she spent all day upstairs?" Her mother asked, now adjusting her own dress. "Mama- how do I look-!" Your older sister walked down the stairs, in her usually sashay walk. "You over did the make up a little to much" you said, of course jokingly. "Well I'm certainly more likely to get with the prince then you" she scoffed before putting on her heels. "Let's not fight, I think you look magnificent." Your mother announced, it surely was true but somethings made you a little mad. "Everyone outside, the carriage isn't gonna wait forever" your mother continues, walking out the door. Your heels made a soft clicking noise on the cement as you walked to the carriage, but your sister was elegantly walking behind you; as if she was the center of attention. Which wasn't wrong, she was always absolutely prettier, but she has the beauty but not brains. You entered the carriage, sitting next to your sister with your mother in front of you both. The horses started trotting their way to the palace, making the carriage shake a bit. You looked out the window to see the cloudy weather above the town.
You sighed as you got out the carriage, walking out quickly. The cold air hit you immediately, the warmth of the carriage completely washed away. "Ugh finally we are here" Your sister said, scoffing as she walked up to the entrance. The gaurds let them all into the palace walls, not even checking if they where even invited. You looked over at the garden that surrounded the palace, it had so much colors yet it was(surprisingly) all so neat. The tiny statues that littered the garden seemed very neatly carved, to the point you could see the fur on the cat statue or the feathers on a crane one. You looked forward, not trying to get distracted by the beautiful interior; yet it was very difficult since almost everything was so fancy. Their was other women there, some who seemed as if if they where nobles, all around. You spotted a group of girls in the main room who where just non-stop gossiping, you heard a few whispers about how the prince was unbelievably handsome and some slandering about other lady's outfits and dresses. But for the most part you ignored them and went over to an ivory bench near a pillar, waiting for the main even to start. After a good 20 minutes you started getting extremely bored of the non-stop chattering coming from everyone, so you got up and walked into an empty hall. You looked up at two large wooden doors, with a wooden plate above it with the words "Library" elegantly Carved into it. You quickly opened the door and walked in, shocked at how big it was. You knew from what school taught you that this library is one of the oldest to exist and also one of the biggest Libraries to ever exist. You quickly ran over to a nap that listen every genre and where to find it, Reading through the List you found (Favorite Genre) and walked to the section quietly. You happily sighed as you found a book that seemed genuinely interesting, grabbing it off the shelf quickly. as you turned around suddenly another body slammed into you, making you fall back. "Bloody hell- OH, Im so sorry miss-" the figure helped you up and picked up the book. Once your eyes adjusted you noticed that this wasn't just some random kid, it was the prince. Britain. "Oh- no worries!" You said in a cheerful tone. He looked left and Right "Can you please tell the guards that I'm not here- please!" He begged, "sure, go hide behind the book carts over there" You pointed at some golden trays that where stacked with books. He nodded before darting off and ducking behind them. Two guards turned the corner and ran to you, "Hello young miss, may you tell me where the prince has headed" the taller one said. Fear struck you as you realized that they had guns strapped onto them, the intimidation making you just want to rat out Britain, but you stayed with your word "He didn't cross my path whatsoever" You said, trying to not sound nervous. The second guard was clearly suspicion, "ma'am you realize lying to higher authorities is against the law-" said the second guard, the taller one made a 'tsk' noise before saying "leave the young lady alone, her lying doesn't benefit her, let's go check the art gallery" Then they both left, the last thing you heard was the loud library doors slamming. You sighed in relief before walking to the golden book trays. "they left, it's safe now" you said calmly, finding the prince sitting behind the book trays. "Thank you..." he mumbled as he got up, dusting himself off. "Are you sure they left?" Britain said, looking around. "I'm sure, they have headed to the art gallery if that is to your concern" you replied, trying to not sound unsure. "Good- but anyways, thank you so much!" He said, you could tell he was being honest. "Your Welcome- but why are you running from the guards? Aren't you like the main 'attraction' of the event" you said, half jokingly. "Pfff, of course I am, but I don't wanna get married to some bratty girl who just wants my riches" he said, laughing a bit. "Understandable, but try being sisters with one, absolute hell I swear" you joked, making him laugh. "I have met my fair share of ladys, none of them are in my interest. But anywho, are you a maid or something?" He asked, inspecting your dress. "I took that to offense, but no I'm not a maid. I'm here because my mother forced me too" you said, in a quiet negative tone. "Let me guess, to see if you can marry me" he joked, you rolled your eyes sarcastically "How could you guess" you replied sarcastically. "Hah! anyways... Want to like- um explore with me" he said, stuttering a bit. "Sure" you shrugged, putting the book back in its spot. His face lit up as he grabbed your hand and started walking to the wooden doors.
After a bit of running and dodging guards you finally made it to the indoor garden, which Britain was surprisingly excited about. You looked at the beautiful array of flowers, the colors ranging from a bright red to a deep blue. "so... why are you running from the guards? You never fully answered my question" you looked over at him. "They want me to meet my arranged wife... again. so I'm just gonna hide until they give up" he said, his voice became a little shaky but he cleared his throat before smiling again. "Wait... isn't this event to find you a wife?" You asked, in genuine confusion. "Well it's mostly for my younger brother, America." Britain replied, rolling his eyes. "That Crazy one? Pfff, I would bet 20 shillings that his wife would leave him in under a month." You laughed, "Hah! He sure is hyper, will probably have a divorce anniversary after a week." The prince laughed before sighing happily. Then the door creaked open a bit, sending you and Britain into shock. You looked over the flower bed only to see a neatly trimmed poodle, tilting its head a bit. "Awwww it's just a dog" you smiled before walking around to it, getting on your knees to pet it. "Hmmm it's collar looks fancy" The prince sat right next to you to inspect its collar. *he looked at the little gold plate and read out the name slowly "It's name is... miss Angeline" he said, "who would name their pet such a fancy name" you said, still petting the dog. Right after you said that the door opened quickly, revealing a beautifully dressed lady. "oh mon pauvre bébé! Never run away from mama ever again, maintenant tu as de la saleté sur tes pattes!" The lady said, picking up the poodle with ease. It wasn't that surprising that she picked up the poodle so easily, since it was just a puppy of course. Britain went into shock as he looked at the girl that stood in front of them both. "Bloody hell..." Britain cursed under his breath. "Who's she-" you whispered, getting up quickly. He sighed before talking again "Hello France." Britain's voice went monotone. "Oh it's you." France's semi happy expression dropped. "Ugh, you are looking awfully dreadful on the ground. I knew you weren't so different from your brother" France said, clearly trying to be rude. Britain looked shocked at the comment, getting up immediately mumbling a 'whatever' under his breath. "You are looking just as horrid yourself" Britain replied. France scoffed and rolled her eyes, "shut your trap before I cut your head off" she snapped. You just stood there watching the whole scene unfold, not knowing what to say. "leave me alone for once, go back to your father or whoever cares for you... if anyone does" Britain snapped back. "I don't see a ring in this finger, so you can't control me." She scoffed, "Does it even matter?! We are engaged, or did you forget already. Is that pea sized brain barely remembering that we are engaged" he said , his harsh tone making your nervous. "Well I could just ask my dad to break the contract, but I decide not too" France snapped back. "Then why don't you, hm?" Britain raised an eyebrow. "Because I love tormenting you~ and then once we get married I become queen; which will make me a higher rank then you" Frances dark tone made Britain step back. "Come on angeline, je ne veux plus être près de cet homme" France walked out of the room, shutting the door loudly on her way out.Britain sighed "Sorry about that." He said "what was all that about-" you looked over at him. "Ughhhh that's my future 'Wife' that I told you I have to marry" Britain said, clearly dissatisfied with who his father had chosen him to marry. "That must be horrible, having to marry whoever your parents choose" you said, now sitting in the edge of a planter. "Yeah, it is... but what can I do about it" he shrugged. "Well at least you aren't your brother, having to talk to hundreds of women just to find a wife" you joked, making Britain laugh a bit. "You know..." he sighed "You are one of the most interesting girls I've met in a long time". You felt yourself blush a bit before replying "Well I'm happy not being some fancy lady who would use manners at any point of The day" you said, a semi-cheerful tone. Britain softly laughed before sitting down next to you. "Well should we go over to the main event?" You said. "Let's go to the outdoor garden first, it's the prettiest place in the palace" British said, getting up and walking to the door that lead outside. You quickly followed him to the garden, gasping in awe as you saw the garden. There was a white stone fence outlining the Beautiful plants. "It's really beautiful... don't you think?" Britain said, his voice growing softer with every word. You replied with a simple nod, enjoying the beauty of the garden. You fixed your hair up, and looked over at the empire, his happy expression making you blush."This place is my safe space. My father or mother never come out here" Britain walked over too you, handing you a beautiful rose.  "You're one strange prince" you joked, placing the rose into your hair. The empire softly laughed before hugging you. "You are like no one else... I like that about you" he sighed happily, making you hug back. Then the impossible happens... The prince kissed you, making you blush like hell. You're body flooded with happiness as he pulled back. "sorry if that was random..." he said quickly, "no it's okay-" you said happily, hugging him a bit tighter. You stood there, holding each-other, for a good minute, embracing this moment. The sun had already started to set and it was just perfect, the red and pink sky, you and your love. You could have never wished for anything more...

Bonus:

-France pov-

I walked into the garden, my poodle on a leash. My eyes widened with shock as I looked at the scene that had just unfolded in front of me. I wanted to just ignore it, I don't trielt love that bitch of a prince. But something broke in my heart, a single crack, a simple pain. Deep down inside I loved Britain, not a lot but enough to take this as a betrayal. I turned around and ran into the palace, tearing up, my make up slowly washing down. Angeline ran after me, unsurprisingly, she was my companion after all. I ran into the main ballroom in tears knowing it was cause a lot of drama...
A perfect way to get back at that backstabber popped into my brain...
