It was an almost-peaceful night in Seaside/Bygone Island... if it weren't for the heavy rain making all the sand soggy and the sky grim. Boom Sonic and his friends are at his shack watching TV, feeling happy that Eggman wasn't around to bother them.
To start this misadventure off, Boom Sonic, Boom Tails, Boom Knuckles, Boom Amy, and Sticks are watching a comedy show while the rain is pouring down. In it, two comedians are on stage having a conversation. The first is dressed up as a film director, while the other is dressed up as an executive.
Comedian #1: So the only change is using CGI instead of 2D?
Comedian #2: Yes.
Comedian #1: Good! I've got to get to work on the poster design.
Comedian #2: That's already been taken care of.
Comedian #1: *confused* What?
Comedian #2: Not to worry. We made something that perfectly matches your movie!
The executive presses a button on his remote and a poster for the film lowers down. The poster depicts the main character smiling.
Comedian #1: *amazed* That's great!
Comedian #2: Actually, that's what it looked like before we showed it to test audiences. Here's what we came up with now!
The executive presses another button on his remote and the main character now has a smug face while looking at the camera. The director is baffled.
Comedian #2: This expression alone warrants many sequels.
The audience laughs. Back at the shack, Boom Sonic and Sticks look unimpressed.
Boom Sonic: The more I watch this act, the more skeptical I am about getting a movie.
Sticks: Yeah, especially if they're going to replace me or my voice with some celebrity.
The broadcast is then interrupted by a news flash. A news reporter (Gerald) is looking at the camera as he speaks about a new report.
Gerald: We interrupt this broadcast to bring you breaking news. Due to a staggering 100 complaints from customers, Meh Burger has just announced it would be adding a brand new menu item.
A photo on the right side of the screen displays a bowl of cheese fries dipped in some kind of white sauce and coated with some kind of vegetable.
Gerald: The new truffle fries for all the people who can't afford fancy eating establishments will be available tomorrow at noon.
The team, surprised, gasps at the sudden news.
Sticks: *surprised* Is Meh Burger really going with this after the swiss cheese fries scandal? *disgusted* I can still sense the mustard just by thinking about it...
Gerald: And if you don't mind, our weatherman has something new to say about tomorrow's weather.
The camera cuts to Herald the weatherman with a graph behind him.
Herald: Yes. A quick update to our previous forecast, the rain has been extended by three more days, and we should be expecting our first thunderstorm by tomorrow. Now back to our program!
Sticks' eyes widen in shock as she stays for some time before...
