Y/n's POV:
It was like the middle of the night, and me and Kayo were still staying in the bus.

Kayo was sleeping and I was just about to go to sleep aswell, when I suddenly heard the door to the bus open. Satoru? No it's not him, he didn't say he would be coming back. Kayo then woke up from the noise.

"Is that Satoru?" She asked. "No, it's not. Satoru didn't say he would be coming and he didn't knock three times either. In fact, he didn't knock at all." I whispered. She look scared so I decided to try and calm her down a bit. "It's gonna be okay Kayo! If he comes over here imma kick him square in the nuts. Well, if it's a boy. If it's a girl I will punch her in the tits." I whispered. She still didn't calm down.

"Dont worry Kayo, I will protect you even if it costs me my life!" I whispered. She deserves it. She has it pretty bad, her mother abuses her!Besides... If I die, I get to see my parents.

I held Kayo close and we heard a bang. Kayo flinched and squeezed her eyes shut and I stayed alarmed, while I still held her close. We then heard him kick a box and Kayo got even more scared, so I held her closer and whispered to her. "I promise you'll be fine!" I whispered.
I purposely didn't include myself, because if he sees us, I might die trying to save Kayo.

Kayo was trembling and covering her mouth to avoid making any sound. We then heard the person leave the bus. I looked out the window to see someone with a brown jacket and black pants. I couldn't see anything else though.

Once I saw the person disappear, I let out a relieved sigh. "He's gone, it's safe... at least for now." I said. "What if they come back?" Kayo asked worriedly. "He's not gonna. Besides, even if they did then I would beat him up!" I said. "I appreciate the bravery, but they're like half your size, Y/n." She deadpanned.

-5 in the morning-

Satoru's POV:
"You're up?" I said as I watched my mom cook. "Good morning!" She said. "Why did you get up so early?" I asked her. "Isn't it obvious? I'm making breakfast!" She replied. "You are heading off to school early again, aren't you?" She asked. "Yeah.." I said quietly, but loud enough for her to hear.

-when she finished the food-

"It looks good!" I complimented. "Slow down kiddo, you'll make yourself sick." She said as I ate fast.

"Can I ask you something Satoru?" She asked. "Mhm" I hummed. "Who are you meeting this early in the morning?" She asked. I flinched. "Can't tell." I replied. "You're not doing anything bad, are you?" She asked. "Course not!" I replied. "Okay then!" She said as she smiled.

After breakfast I got my winter clothes on. "See you later mo-" "Hold it!" She cut me off as she grabbed my back pack to stop me from stepping out of the door.

"Take this too." She told me as she held up a box wrapped in a blue cloth. "It's a little something extra. You know, if you get hungry before lunch." She told me. She then handed it to me. "Right!" I said. "Thanks a bunch mom!" I thanked her as I opened the door and left.

-At the bus-

Satoru's POV:
I knocked on the door to the bus three times so they knew it was me, and then I went inside.

"It's me, good mornin'! " I greeted. "Good morning Satoru." Kayo greeted him. "I brought you two some breakfast!" I said as I handed them the box. "But there's only one box." Y/n said. "I'm sorry, unfortunately that's all I could get, so you guys are gonna need to share." I apologiezed.

"Nah it's fine, Kayo can have it all." She said. "But you need to eat!" Kayo told her. "I don't ever get breakfast anyways, my brother is always at work, unless it's his day off. Even then I don't get breakfast, because I always sleep in, so I never have time." She explained. "I'm used to having no breakfast, so don't worry about me." She said.
