"Aqui how's your relationship with Martin going huh? Is he treating you just like how we treat you here?" Lorenzo asked taking a spoonful of rice inside his mouth. "You have no idea father." I answered smiling dreamily as pictures of Martin treating me princess-like flashes in my mind.
"I take that as a good sign." Emily stated. "Well it must be or else..." "Lorenzo, just let them make the flow of their relationship themselves. Let's not interfere. Besides in few times that I've met Martin I already knew that he's a good man for our daughter." Mother defended smiling at me. I smiled back and then mouthed 'thank you'
"Yeah he's cool to be with." A manly voice echoed. "Not you too Jack." Father said in exasperation. The table filled with laughter at his irate expression. "Just saying the truth." He shrugs.
"Well is there anybody here whose not bias to that guy? Jonas?" All eyes landed at the guy whose sitting next to Jonas busying himself eating as much as he can.
We all stared at him waiting for his answer but he's still busy at his business.
"What?" He asked when he finally noticed that all eyes were on him.
But we just ignored him and continue eating our own food like there's nothing really happens. In my periphery I saw Jonas shrugged before getting himself busy again.
When we're done eating dinner and about to clean the dishes, Jack and Jonas suddenly disappeared in the whole house and my mother said that she has to make a call so it's just me and my father left in the dining hall.
I started taking all the used plate and remove the leftovers using a used spoon before stacking it under the top plate who serves as the receiver of the leftovers.
"Let me do that." Father said when he came out from the kitchen. "I can do this." I refused bringing the dirty dishes in the kitchen sink. He followed me taking all the used glass with him. "But you're not used to do that. Was that guy—" I stopped him. "Dad, Martin is a good guy. Why couldn't you believe that?" I asked as I opened the faucet to full the sink with water.
"Aqui you can't just stop a father from blabbering his concerns to his children. Most specially to his daughter." He explained leaning his back at the island counter.
"Yes I know. But please give him a chance. We've been together for more than two years and I'm living with him for almost a year that's why I truly know how a wonderful person he is. He's always makes me the happiest woman in every second we're together. He makes me feel so special like I'm his queen. And he cares for me like I'm the most precious gem in the world. And I love him so much dad. I love him to the point that I couldn't imagine my life living without him. He's like the battery inside my chest that if ever it would be gone I will turned into a useless scrap." I stated whole heartily.
"Wow." He muttered amused after a brief moment. "I don't know that that's how big he affected you already." "Yes dad, he's got the biggest part of my heart." I smiled genuinely.
"What about me?" He asked appalled. I chuckled. "Don't worry dad it's a different thing from a love for the family. I still love you the way I love you before I met Martin." I explained.
"I love you too sweetheart." He kissed me a fatherly kiss on my temple. "Can I leave the dirty dishes with you now? Cause I remember the last time your mother left you with that we just spent our breakfast, lunch and dinner in a fast food restaurant because you smashed all of our plates to use." He joked.
