"Hello, James!" Morie shouted as James flung the factory door open. Morie's loud voice and sudden apperance startled the tom, and he flailed his arms before falling backwards.

"Whoops! I'm just loud, I take it," Morie said with a bit of a laugh. He helped James to his paws. James brushed off his scribbled labcoat, and then smiled at Morie with his sharp, yellow teeth.

"Soooo, what's the hustle? It's 10 o'clock at night, you stupid deer," James teased before elbowing his friend in the rib. Morie let out a loud snort from the impact.

"Well, I just wanted to see how your date went," Morie said.

Is it just me, or is his British accent way heavier tonight? James thought to himself, twiddling his paws.

"Are you okay, Morie?" James asked in a whisper.

"Much, much... happier than usual." Morie replied. Morie placed his hand on James's back, leading the brown tom back into the factory. James's nose twicthed when he picked up the smell of fresh blood. It didn't smell the same as it used to. He remembered the warm and bitter scent of blood calmed him, or sometimes filled his "adreniline drug." but since Dionysus died, James's blood and murder urges almost vanished. But James smelled it so much that he never questioned where it came from.

"You didn't tell me how your date went," Morie said with a small laugh.

"It went pretty good overall! Also, Morie... I hate to say this, but uh- my love interest? Uh, he's... starving." James meowed quietly.

"Oh? Does he not make enough money?" Morie asked.

"Yeah. That's about it," James said with a shrug. His tone sounded emotionless, the opposite of what he was feeling.

"Oh! James! random question, but did you find out his sexuality?" Morie asked in a cheerful tone. His hand was still on James's back as they walked up to his room.

"Uhh, yeah! He's pansexual. Yeah, you're pan too, right?" James asked.

"Panromantic. I'm asexual, we've been through this," Morie sighed.

"Gosh daaaang, you're no fun," James huffed, but he was laughing inside at his slightly innapropriate joke. Morie didn't catch on.

"Ay Morie, I'm gonna take a quick shower, 'kay?" James said, before entering the bathroom near his bedroom. Morie just stood there and nodded, no significant expression on the stag's face.

James pulled off his clothes very quickly, and turned around to look at his scars in the mirror. He was covered in scratch and bite wounds. Some were starting to fade away, others completley gone, or covered by his fur. But he remembered what happened to him.

After escaping the lab he was being tested in, he left his ex-boyfriend, Oscar, there alone to starve. Abanoning the jackal, like he did to James. He set off to find a safe place to settle, away from the factory, far from the city he once lived in. Where he once played in his family band. it hurt him to leave it behind, but he had murdered someone. He couldn't go back. Besides, his mother was dead. What use was it to go back?

He already had scars from scratching himself, and one gash on his chest from Sebastian, who kicked him. Sebastian was the German Shepherd dog who took James in when he got lost, promising him food and love. But those promises were fake. He was tested on, alongside his ex. James was given the more violent monster on accident. The one who ate his guilt and fueled his desire for murder and blood.

James was very upset at Sebastian for this. But Sebastian had a little target James could find once he was free. M/c. Sebastian's Nibling.

James wanted to take away everything M/c had for that very reason. James's loving mother was dead, his father had left the family band behind years ago, and his older brother had fallen into a coma from nearly drowning. M/c still had a happy family who loved them. And James was overblinded by jealousy and his newly frozen heart, that he felt he had to take M/c's life away- without killing them. he approched little, gullible lost M/c the same way Sebastian had approched him. Promising love, food, and shelter. Making the fake promises to the little dog that Sebastian had once told him.

James's old lover had attacked him, after escaping from the lab. He followed James's cat-scent, and struck, biting and clawing the brown tom. James and his monster fought Oscar off, and to this day, James hadn't seen the jackal.

James snapped back into reality, trying to clear his head. He climbed into the shower, and turned on the steamy, warm water.

His thoughts were a lot clamer now. He had someone who cared about him. A best friend. James spent a while washing his long, wavy, blue hair. He sneezed when some water dripped on the tip of his nose. When he climbed out of the shower, and dried his fur out, he grabbed a long nightgown for himself. He wore these after he took showers, since his fur was always damp.

He opened the door, and to his surprise, Morie was still there.

"Alrighty there, James. Goin' to bed?"

"You're still here?"

"Of course. Now it's five past ten. Please go to sleep."

"Oh alright... I will."

James went into his bedroom. He felt his way to his bed, not bothering to turn on his light. He huddled under the soft blanket his mom had given him, and laying his head on the pillow she gave him as well. James let out a small giggle from the happy memory, before falling asleep, drifting into the unusual silence in his mind.
