Chapter 5 | Blood of Thy Enemy

As Sarah sped through the sky, her sister's close behind her, "Sarah! Slow down!" Winnie scolded, and Sarah did as her sister asked but not by a lot. As they saw the girls walking down the street Winifred nose dived, grabbing Cassie by the arm, Becca and Izzy shouted trying to grab Cassie out of Winifred's hands. Sarah cackled, and gave a smug smirk to Sandra who looked scared out of her mind.

Blue light came out from Becca palm's as she reached for Cassie, everyone looked at her in shock, "Becca...oh my god, I think I'm gonna faint..." Sandra sat on the trolley steps holding her head. "Okay, Becca, Izzy, head to the woods. I'll be just behind you, Sandra stay here." I said sternly looking at her, "but-"

"Don't even say that right now." I retorted, she quickly shut up and went back to rubbing her temple. As Becca and Izzy ran to the woods I conjured an ice pack in my hand putting it on her head. "Stay here, okay? I can't have you getting hurt." She nodded, placing a soft kiss on my lips, I smiled though it felt different.

Sarah twirled around cackling all over the place, "Sarah! Come here!" Winifred called to the youngest sister, "coming, Winnie!" She called, giggling the whole way. As Sarah came to her sister's side Mary scooted over gesturing for her to come to the middle, she looked at her sister's confused, Winifred sighed in annoyance shoving Sarah into the middle.

Sarah calmly did the incantation 4 four times before they were interrupted, "Stop!" Becca said, the witches turned to the teenagers.
"You're making a great mistake! You didn't read the warning!"

"And what pearls would book cast at my feet?" Winifred smugly answered, "I was talking to Sarah" Becca snapped back, "If you do this spell, whatever you value most disappears, don't do this..." she continued, "think of Y/n! Don't you want her to live a good life?" Winifred and Mary turned to the blonde witch, "listen not to her lies Sarah!" Winnie exclaimed covering her ear's.

Sarah shook them off, "First of all, Y/n mean's nothing to me anymore, she could go off with that Sandra girl for all I care, she's only holding me back from my full potential. And for the record, I never really loved her most of the time, I used her to guide children to us back then I have no use for her now."

"When are you going to stop lying to yourself?! Have you seen the way you look at her or the way she looks at you- I mean- she could just stand in the same room as you and all your problems are solved because she's there for you! She made a promise to be your's forever, right? She never broke that promise-"

"She did break that promise...." Sarah added, clenching her fists.

"But she didn't! She loved you after all of these years! But you died and she started falling for someone else, that completely logical! But you were always her first choice!" Becca exclaimed, "She's right..." Sarah whipped around to see the woman, she was surprised to see her.

Y/n walked closer, you could tell Sarah was spiraling out of control, she was approaching the blonde slowly. Cassie got nervous and picked up a pinecone just in case something happened. "Hey, it's okay, Can come closer?" Y/n asked, as touchy Sarah is, when she's in a state like this she has boundaries and the slightest thing could send her spiraling into a fit of rage. Sarah mumbled a little 'mhm' Winnie and Mary backed away slowly, as
Y/n got closer.

As Y/n finally got to her Becca hit her with a blast of her magic, Sarah stumbled forward, she whipped back and stared at them, "you really shouldn't have done that!" Sarah chuckled, "Becca...I don't like this..." Izzy said grabbing Becca's jacket and tugging her away. Though, Becca just kept looking at Sarah in the eye. "You're not gonna hit me are you, Sarah?"

"Do not underestimate what I'm willing to do, Becca" Sarah's hands began to glow a shade of purple, that's not good

"Yeah! You're not powerful enough! Sarah!" She mockingly said, "Curse thine, Traske!" Sarah whipped her hand at Cassie, "Stop!" Y/n called, she was shocked when everything was in slo-motion. "What the-" she looked at her hands to see a purplish glow, "I did not know I could do that!" I said, surprised, I bit my lip, I already knew the rules of stopping time. "I can't move the girls, so I'll just step in front if the beam, what's the worst that could happen?" I mumbled, I walked in-front of the bright beam of purple, I closed my eye's, 'it's now or never...'

I snapped my fingers, the beam hit me, I fell to the ground the pain following through my body, I wanted to scream but I couldn't, the last thing I heard was screams filled with terror and people calling out my name before it all went dark...

Sarah's POV

I froze as Y/n stepped in front of the beam, everyone screamed in horror as she fell to the ground, "oh my god..." Cassie whispered her tone wobbly from tears. She hugged Izzy for comfort as Becca placed her hands over her mouth staring at Y/n's body. I looked at my hand's in disgust, how could I do this? You monster!

I ran to her body dropping on the ground with my knees, my vision blurred from the tears. I shook her as an attempt to wake her up, "Y/n! Wake up! Don't do this to me, please!" I choked, I brought her to my chest sobbing into her hair, like old times when Winnie would call me something or hit me a little too hard.

"I need you! I didn't mean anything I said! I take it all back, okay! If this is some cruel joke, it's not funny! God, please let this be a joke!" I sobbed even harder into her shoulder, "WAKE UP!" I yelled, Winnie grabbed my shoulder pulling me back, I snapped at her and swatted her hands away. "Sarah! Let her rest..." Winnie said in a calm tone, this angered me, "No! She's alive! I know she is! She wouldn't give up this easy!"

Y/n's POV

I woke up to a bright light, "Oh goodness gracious, could someone turn off the lights?" I squinted trying to regain my eyesight, as they focused I saw a face of a boy. "Thackery? Oh my god, I'm dead!" I exclaimed, jolting up and looking around. "You're in the in-between, actually!" He corrected, I gave him a stern look. "Okay, okay, Sarah hit you with a spell..." he revealed, "oh..."

"Well, I made a choice to save Cassie and Becca and I took it. They're nice kids they deserve to live life! I don't really care if I'm dead or not..." I said plopping down onto the ground, "some people do though, like Sarah." He waved his hand and an image of Sarah sobbing, she looked so broken yet determined, like the inly thing that mattered was waking me up.

"She loves you, more than anything, you do know that, right?" Thackery asked, I hesitated while nodding. "You are the only person she could truly love, romantically" He explained, "well, since you want to die just come with me-"

"No! I mean- I've changed my mind..." he smiled at me, "well then, I'll see you again!" He waved at me as a white light surrounded me it got brighter and brighter until I was back in my body.

I fluttered my eyes open, Sarah was shaking violently as she hugged my body close, I let a tear roll down my cheek. I hugged her back, an audible gasp was heard, she pulled away looking at me. She laughed, "you're so cruel!" She scolded, but the stern tone didn't last very long before she broke down into tears.

"Never. Do that again!" She said, cuddling into my neck, "I won't, my love."
