Robert hated boat travel because it usually took him away from where he wanted to be . At least this time it was taking him to Cora. He needed to speak with her and if he had to cross the raging seas to do so, he would. He had never been angrier at his mother than now. She told Cora he wanted her to go! It hurt that she seemed to have believed it. Maybe she thought he was trying to get back at her.

Robert tried to spy Harold through the sea of immigrants. He looked up when he heard a familiar voice. Edith was waving excitedly from atop Harold's shoulders. Robert rushed to the pair grunting as Edith launched herself into his arms. "Hello my darling," he said , giving her a kiss.

"Papa, Mama was screaming a lot yesterday but she's ok. The baby came out.

Robert frowned. He wasn't there and he wouldn't have been if his mother hadn't sent er away! "Bloody hell," he muttered. He glanced at Harold. "So everything went ok then?"

"I think so they never told me otherwise. You have another daughter though and that seemed to upset Cora yet she was happy."Harold wanted to say what he was really thinking but he couldn't in front of Edith. "Once we get home I'd like to speak with you before you see Cora."

Robert nodded, having a feeling he was going to be yelled at in a good old American style.

Thy got out of the car, Edith requesting a ride on Robert's back. He couldn't refuse her.  Greeting Cora's family was a bit awkward having never met them before as they did not come for the wedding, but seemed to know what had transpired because, no doubt Martha told them after speaking to Cora. Mary ran up yo him as he spoke with her uncle. "Papa!" she exclaimed. "Come and meet baby Sybil!" she said, pulling him with her.
