I woke up feeling the rays of the sun shine through my eyelids, I stretched and decided to go outside for a bit, go for a walk with the crutches, I took my shower and left the room, it was still cool, it was 7 :30 am, I sat down in the hospital park to watch nature awaken. Birds were chirping, the morning breeze was crashing on my face. I felt good outside, I daydreamed for a few more minutes and then I went back to my room. I made the bed again and even managed to finish my legal file which I sent in. I was bored doing nothing but resting, I got back into bed and was watching TV when Matt came in, « Hey Luce so ready to go out ? » « I can go out ! Yes you can, I’ve got your discharge order, but first I’ve got to get the stitches out, do you want that or should I call a nurse ? « Oh no, go ahead, I trust you ! » Matt came over to me and removed the sutures one by one, taking care to disinfect each time, he gave me some recommendations and left me alone again with my discharge voucher and a taxi voucher to go home. I expected him to tell me that he had a soft spot for me, but nothing. He didn’t look for it, I don’t understand him, on the one hand he’s very helpful, devoted and always looking after me and on the other hand he can seem cold, distant and although I don’t care about him for a while, I can’t get him out of my head like the other men who have courted me. He’s not trying to please me, just to do good around him, but I still didn’t dream that he revealed that he loved me, how could I show him that I loved him back. I was thinking about this all the way back to my flat, when I got out of the taxi, I found Irina, who was apologizing a thousand times for the blow. Matt had called her and told her to wait for me at my flat, « It’s okay Irina, don’t worry about it, at least I know you have the skills to defend yourself if we are attacked ! « I said, laughing. Irina followed me in my delirium and we laughed all afternoon. Irina left and I was able to lie down again, it’s true that after a day like this one sleep falls easily.
