I got voodoo, I got hoodoo

I got things I ain't even tried!

And I got friends on the other side

-------

"The one time I do something stupid, this happens."

You grumble and lean against the railings, containing a shiver as the night breeze passes by. You tug at the red bandana around your neck, but it does nothing to soothe your nerves or your feelings.

This seriously isn't fair. MK can use his powers okay, but when you do it, you get transported to who knows where!

This is all because of-

Tendrils shooting out of the darkness, lashing out and painfully wrapping around your body. Getting dragged, deep into the void. Your vision fades as you see Macaque's distressed face. A voice, a whisper, calls out to you. But you can't make out its words.

...It is so terribly cold.

The railings crumble under your grip, and you jolt. Quickly pulling your hands away, you hiss awkwardly at the permanent indents in the metal you created.

Oh boy.

You glance left and right, and hurry away from the scene of the crime, heading towards the side of the building.

Welp. Not my problem.

Flakes of paint stick onto your palms, to which you wipe off with your shirt. Casually leaning over the side of the building (with railings you haven't vandalized), you peer into the dim alleyway below.

You give it a brief scan before shrugging, and vaulting over the railings. You leap off of the side, making your way down using pipes and air conditioners, your movements light. Reaching the ground, you flip and land gracefully as a feather.

A smug smile appears on your face as you fix your clothes. Perfect, as always.

You give one last tug at your red bandana before you walk out of the alleyway, confidence in your steps.

Now... Where exactly am I?

You easily slip past the crowd, your eyes looking for any landmarks to identify the city you were in.

Wherever you are, it shouldn't be that far from Megapolis. A little malfunction in Shadow Travelling shouldn't take you too far, maybe a few miles away from the dojo. Sixer should easily be able to find you, but in such a loud place like this, it might take a while.

The best thing you could do right now is to figure out where you are and wait for your mentor to find you.

You know what? You smile to yourself. This might not actually be that bad. A few days without Sixer training your butt off? Looks like you just scored a vacation!

You hum, a relaxed smirk on your face as you imagine the days you could have before Sixer inevitably finds you. Oh, you'll definitely have a lot of fun before he arrives, that's for sure.

Something catches your eye; an old man, snoozing on the bench, a newspaper in his hand.

Your eyes glint as you casually approach, snatching the paper out of his grip and continuing walking, not a hitch in your step. You hear the man snort before going back to obnoxiously snoring.

Easy, you think as you flick the paper open. Now where-

Your face falls as you read the paper.
