THE SERIOUS TALK

"Nandini malhotra sahab called us here to talk about your marriage with his son. Do you know about it already?" Anand asked cupping his daughter's cheek and nandini look into his eyes and nod in yes.

"Yes papa, after coming here. I found a best friend in manik and then we started talking. Uncle called you after asking me if i'm ready for it or not. Yes papa i do want to marry manik." Nandini answered and anand broke the hug and turn to malhotras.

"Malhotra sahab, we will give our answer as soon i am finish talking with my daughter. I need to talk to her very seriously. Hope you can understand." Anand said politely and mr.malhotra just nodded his head.

"Son, just go and drop them to nandini's apartment." Mr.malhotra said turning to manik and then he turned towards mr.agarwal,"I will be waiting for your answer because we don't want to loose a gem like nandini." Mr.malhotra said and anand smile and left with his family.

Throughout the whole journey noone said anything. Nandini just keep looking at her family and then manik time to time feeling the raising tension in the atmosphere. mr.agarwal was a polite and silent person who doesn't like to make ruckus. He silently sat because he needs some peace to clear his mind because it's just been one month and already a proposal came to him. One thing shocked him that malhotras only knew about the incident happened one month ago still they're eager to get nandini as their daughter in law.

Soon the car stopped infront of the building. They got down and see the lavish building along with the parking area where different different templates were hanging on different different small rooms made of the steel sheilds for the car parking. Mr.agarwal got really happy to see the arrangements mr.malhotra done for his employees. His trance broke when manik touched his feet, he even touched ashwini's. They both smiled and touch his head with affection.

"Bless you son." Ashwini said and then manik and nandini shared an intensive stare. Don't know what came into manik, he came forward and said,"uncle i don't know what you think about me but please don't think my love is not strong enough because i just met her last month. I love your daughter and i will keep her happy no matter what. I will be waiting for your answer." Manik said and anand smiled hugely. His words were filled with emotions and love and anand just couldn't believe the luck of nandini. For him, thank god that marriage didn't happened because nandini has something else in her destiny. She has manik who love her like his life depends on her.

After manik left, anand look at nandini and found her eyes casted down as if she was embarrassed. Anand didn't said anything and walked inside the building. Ashwini followed him and sighing, nandini wend behind them. Nandini just led them inside the lift and pushed the button of her floor. Soon she led them inside her apartment and was so nervous because none of them utter anything till now. Being their daughter it's her first duty to take advise from them on the main decision and one thing that she cleared in her mind was, if her father will be dissatisfied, then she is not gonna marry him no matter if she loves him or not.

She settled them in the living room and herself went inside the kitchen. She prepared the tea for themselves and made her dad's pasta for dinner. She knew her father loves this red sauce pasta. As soon she came out from the kitchen she found her dad was eyeing her home curiously. He was raking his eyes in every corner with impressed look. Nandini smiled and sat beside him while forwarding him the tea. Feeling his daughter aura beside himself, he turned and look at her daughter with bright smile.

"How's my daughter? I was sad because my princess just left me alone but after i realised why you left, it made me heartbroken. So tell me how's my princess?" Anand said holding her both arms, his talks bring back some bitter memories infront of nandini and she couldn't control and cried on her dad's shoulder after hugging him tightly.

The pain nandini was hiding from too long couldn't be suppressed anymore and it burst out in form of fat tears. Even though nandini wasn't sad after breaking that toxic marriage still what her heart felt during the time was traumatic. She couldn't even cry to relax her heart because her mother was acting blind and her father was busy fighting for his daughter's happiness.

While crying loudly on her father's shoulder, she felt the warm hands of her mother which were creasing her hair. She turned and found her mother sitting just an inch far, crying for her misdeeds that she'd made to make her only daughter's life vulnerable. Nandini hug her tightly and cried hard. Her mother take her in her own embrace and cried trying to convey all the hard things that she'd been through when her daughter left her.

"I'm really sorry nandini. You were always right. You were always my strong girl but i was the one who imposed my decision on you. I am not a good mother. I just believed what outsiders told me without thinking about the upbringing that your father had given you all his life. I am sorry for being so unfair. Mumma is sorry, please forgive me my daughter." Ashwini kissed her hairs making her cry more. Nandini sobbed in her chest but relaxed because the warmth that a mother can provide, no one can give.

"I was hurt that's why i left the home. You hurted me. I was so angry with you." Nandini sobbed rubbing her red nose with her hand.

"I know you left the home because of me. Each day without you seemed like a decade to me. Your father was so angry on me that he didn't talk to me for days. I want to meet you, talk to you, ask forgiveness from you but my guilt was so much, i couldn't gather enough courage to face you. Please forgive me. Please nandini please." Her mother plead her with tears and nandini couldn't control and just hug her once more. She wiped her mother tears.

"No more tears for my family now. I want you to relaise your mistake and since you've. We are happy family once again and let's just have dinner now. I am so hungry." Nandini said and served her parents. Anand and ashwini had a lot to ask because they've seen manik and his feelings. They even got a proposal from the billionaire himself, they couldn't just believe that nandini is going to get married to the most young selfmade billionaire himself.

When they had their dinner happily, nandini served the icecream in big bowls. They were enjoying the icecream when finally anand break the ice, asked looking at nandini.

"Nandini we want to know about manik? We knew he is well known businessman and very rich but do you feel the same like he does? Do you love him? How come you meet him and have this relationship with him? Don't think we will impose our decision on you again but this time i want to be super cautious with your marriage thing. I already like manik but we want to hear it from you." Anand said and nandini blushed hard gazing her bowl on lap, filled with icecream.

"Papa situation wasn't good when we decided to be in a relationship with each other but when we become friends it was my own choice. He asked for a chance and i had to give him under a pressure but you know the main thing papa, i never regret giving him a chance. He is a true gentleman in all senses. I feel the same sense of security i feel with you papa. He is so genuine and so loving. I don't know whether i love him or not but i trust him. I trust him and his decisions after yours. When he asked me to marry you, i couldn't deny because i know no one can keep me happy more than him." Nandini had the tears in her eyes due to confession and all the feelings she felt at that time. She knew she didn't love him, yet he give her so much assurace that she can those heavy things without any fear.

Anand look at her cautiously and smile at end. He didn't said anything for some moment making nandini heart thunder thinking anand just rejected manik but next second his lips curved into a beautiful smile when he turned to ashwini,"let's just call malhotra sahab and told him the good news. I like that boy so much you say ashwini, do you like manik?" Ashwini smiled and nodded in yes happily. Nandini happily hug her parents and look at the nearby table which was having a beautiful photo of him and her together. She was standing in her reporter clothes and he was in his business suit, him wrapping her shoulder in his confident grip. She is going to have this grip for her whole life. She is the lucky one.

Nandini smile looking at the particular photo and hug her parents happily.
