The sun rose slowly into the dull morning sky. Casting sunbeams in every direction illuminated the eerie still city. Hizashi drank in the gold droplets that slowly began to warm up his pale skin. The horizon was painted a brilliant orange and red, he could even hear from birds somewhere made it feel almost normal. Just a normal day, coming home from the radio station and Shouta just ending his patrols. They would meet for breakfast at the same old run-down diner they been meeting at for nearly ten years. Hizashi glanced over his shoulder.

He could hear Bakugou long before he could see them. The teen was screaming about being punctual. He rubbed at his temples and then adjusted his hearing aids, lowering the volume. It was far too early for this. He glanced at towards the rising sun, with his hearing aids turned down he couldn't hear the birds but he knew they were there. Singing about better times.

They cleared the hill. Bakugou was stomping angrily ahead of Kirishima and Momo. He was carrying three bags and one of his eyes was twitching.

Hizashi met them halfway. "Get it out now."

"Eh," His lip curled. He set down the packs and begun to do a final check of their supplies.

Hizashi turned towards the other two teens.

"What are you creating?"

Momo had her hand against her chest. She looked a bit pale, her breathing labored. She had been overusing her quirk again. She was a responsible girl and wouldn't overexert herself without good cause.

"Kirishima is vulnerable when his quirk isn't activated because he's half-naked."Momo pulled some fabric from beneath her breast.

Kirishima turned away trying to be respectful, he was blushing that a part of her breast was exposed. He rubbed the back of his head "My quirk tears through everything. So it's pointless to have a shirt on...The hero support was coming up with a fabric that I could wear over my arms so I could be a hero that saved!"

"I'm not sure what the support department would have come up with but I'm combing carbon in the cotton with boron" She placed a hand on Kirishima's shoulder. "I've created a tough but lightweight fabric of boron carbide. You can still be a hero that saves" She held out the shirt for him to take.

Kirishima took the shirt. He didn't understand what any of that meant but if he could save people without hurting them then he was impressed. He took the long sleeve shirt and placed it over his head. She gave him the okay and he turned on his quirk. He didn't feel that it go through the fabric and glanced down his chest and lifted his arms to make sure he didn't see any holes. "Seems pretty tough"

"Same material used to protect tanks?" Bakugou set down his packs and walked over grabbing Kirishima's sleeve and examined it.

"Exactly" Momo clapped her hands together. She always forgot how bright Bakugou was due to his delinquent demeanor.

"I read about research prior to the outbreak that it could lead to more comfortable body armor for soldiers and police and even be used to produce lightweight, fuel-efficient cars and aircraft...I had to use my own formula because I didn't have access to that research...so it may not be as efficient" She sighed heavily at her defeat.

"Can it stop one of those ugly bastard's teeth?"

"Yes, but there are factors. It can stop a bullet but close-range knife attacks can pierce the material. So if the undead bites with enough pressure and has teeth like Mr. Kirishima's here then it's possible that it can puncture the skin beneath"

"Still awesome!" Kirishima grinned. "Thank you Momo!"

"Looks good" Hizashi gave the three a thumbs up. Bakugou's eyes narrowed, he was getting the first close look at his face.
