While Jennifer waited for Austin's response, she kept as busy as she could, going through and deleting her emails. When he finally texted back.
Don't worry about it. I can handle T. See you tomorrow night
Jennifer's heart soared at the last line, and she let it carry her through the rest of the day. On lunch, she bought the outfit, loving how it made her look in the mirror when she tried it on in the dressing room. She was lucky to get the last pair of boots in her size. Carrying her bags, she went over to cosmetics, but Selena was nowhere to be found. She smiled at Destiny but decided that she didn't need any more makeup because Austin had asked her out just the way she was. The afternoon went uneventfully with more new hires and finalizing the packets for the training on Monday. A knock at the door just before it was time for her to leave snapped her to attention, but she was relieved to see it wasn't Todd.
"Hey, sorry I missed you at lunch, it's been a crazy day," Selena said carrying a small gift bag of cosmetics. "But I just wanted to give you these from the girls before the big day tomorrow."
"Thank you so much, Selena," Jennifer said, hugging her friend. "I will text you how it went on Sunday."
"You will text me when you get home tomorrow night, girl," Selena said with a big smile. "And you will be going home tomorrow night because I will not be getting a text from Austin's on Sunday morning."
"Alright, alright," Jennifer said as she gathered her things, waved to Selena, and headed out of the office.
