WARNING: This chapter contains mentions of blood, bodily harm and sexual themes.

IT WAS STILL NIGHTFALL when Y/N opened her eyes again. She felt different. In sleep, in her mind had been tormented by terrible images - meat and flesh, a dark world beyond theirs and the end to all things. But within it all, every step of the way, Y/N had seen him... seen his face and his hand reaching out to grab her. When she awoke, Y/N found that the room around her had barely changed... except of course, for the pool of blood soaking the sofa she was laying on and her clothes. Eddie was still there, sitting across the room from her with his head in his hands, bouncing his leg up and down. He must've heard her wake, or draw breath, because he looked up and after a moment - his eyes glittered with excitement. "You're awake... how do you feel?"

"I feel..." Y/N couldn't concentrate on anything. She sat herself up, body damp and cold but for some reason, it didn't bother her. That was just it: she didn't feel much of anything at all. She wasn't cold, or warm - she didn't feel breathless, or in pain despite her vivid memory of Eddie biting into her skin. She traced her fingers delicately over the bite site, the skin still slightly raised and tactile around the punctures but... there was no pain.

A horrible, wonderful realisation came over her. Eddie drew close to her side, taking her hand in his. "Do you feel it yet...?"

"I... I don't understand—"

"Do you feel it?"

"Eddie... I'm scared. I don't know what's going on I don't remember—"

"Do you feel me?" He grinned, his fangs pressing down against his bottom lip. He reached his hand up and pushed the hair from her face, tracing her cheeks with a finger. "Do you feel my venom... my power running through your veins? Do you feel your heart slowing down... your mind aching, your senses heightened—"

"What did you do to me?—"

"Listen... listen to the rain." But Y/N could already hear it - outside the trailer the skies had opened, but the rain was so loud it almost sounded as if it were in the room with her— as if she were in the clouds as it poured. The windows of the trailer creaked, insects ran for cover under the damp supports of the trailer, a family across the park tucked their little ones into bed before opening a bottle of wine. It was overwhelming, a sudden awareness of everything around her.

She focused on Eddie; somehow, he was even more perfect then than before, every line in his skin and every mark on his body felt right somehow. His eyes were dark, his lips curled into a smile as he studied her expression. She couldn't hide it: she was happy, excited. She felt truly alive which - given the circumstances, felt completely wrong. Eddie slid her off the chair and onto his lap, her legs sitting either side of his, her arms knowing exactly what to do as they wrapped around his neck and her hands burrowed into his thick hair.

"You're mine now... Y/N."

"I feel incredible, Eddie..." Y/N smiled, kissing the side of his face. "I... I've never felt so good before. Why do I feel so good?"

"We should change you out of these bloody clothes..." he suggested, tugging at the ruined fabric but she shook her head. "No?"

"It would be wasteful..." she smiled, taking the sleeve of her top that she had been using before to stop the bleeding: she held it out to him, the pale fabric drenched in a deep red hue, and squeezed the material until thick drops of blood fell onto the floor, into his lap, onto his skin. He couldn't help himself... he lapped it up immediately, finding himself moving to nip and suck at her shirt, her trousers, her skin. His tongue and fangs dragged their way across every inch of her, trying to savour what it could, as Y/N stroked his hair.

It was completely addictive.

"Eddie..." she allowed herself to say his name, and somehow it tasted different now. "I..."

"Don't think... just relax sweetheart." He whispered softly. "You're mine... I'm going to take everything from you."

"Eddie— I'm... I don't know what this feeling is." She admitted, clutching at her throat suddenly. It felt impossibly dry and aching, as if she hadn't eaten or drank anything for weeks, months even. Eddie pulled away, letting his gaze wander over her.

"You're thirsty... yes. We should hunt." He growled, looking up. Y/N stared back at him, a little bewildered.

"Hunt?" She repeated. "I don't understand..."

"I told you, didn't I?" He hummed, dragging his fangs across her cold cheeks making her squirm. "Vecna needs bodies— he needs this world gone. When those portals open, we won't have a lot of options... we should feed now."

"B-but on who?" Y/N asked cautiously.

"Who do you think?"

"Not your friends, surely?"

"Why not...?" He asked, menacingly. "I've always wondered what they'd taste like... I hear they're having a small gathering at the Wheelers house for Halloween. I think we should... you know, stop by?"

"I... I'll follow you, wherever you go." Y/N nosed obediently. Eddie smiled. Taking her face between his hands, he kissed her deeply, using his tongue to explore her mouth in search of fangs. Her gums felt painful to the touch, causing her to wince as he kissed her, eventually pulling away.

He stuck a thumb inside her mouth, lifting her lips. "Hmm... they'll come down, eventually."

"I— I trust you."

"Good. Now... let's go."
