"S-Sirius...Remus..." Even Pettigrew's voice was squeaky, Again the lump of a man's eyes darted towards the door.

"My friends...My old friends..." Sirius rose his borrowed wand; Lupin quickly seized him around the wrist and gave him a warning look before turning back to Pettigrew.

"we've been having a little chat, Peter, About what happened the night Lily and James died."

"You might have missed the finer points while you were squeaking around down there on the bed."

"Remus." Gasped Pettigrew, the rat like man's eyes still darting around the room, everyone could see the beads of sweat breaking out over his pasty face, "You don't believe him, do you? He tried to kill me, Remus."

"So we've heard." Lupin replied coldly, "I'd like to clear up one or two little matters with you, Peter. If you'd be so—"

"He's come to try and kill me again!" Pettigrew squeaked, suddenly pointing at Sirius, "He killed Lily and James and now he's going to kill me too! You've got to help me Remus." Sirius' face looked skull-like as he stared Peter down with disgust,

"no one's going to try and kill you until we've sorted a few things out." Lupin's voice remained cold, "Sorted things out?!" Pettigrew shrieked, looking wildly about the room once more before his eyes taking in the boarded windows and, again, the only door before they finally landed on the unconscious seventh year.

"Don't look at her." Lupin scowled, stepping into Pettigrew's line of sight, Voldemorts loyal followers had done enough damage, he wouldn't allow his ex-friend turned follower to inflict any further harm.

"I knew he'd come for me, that he'd come to finish the job...I've been waiting for this for twelve years."

"You knew Sirius was going to break out of Azkaban?" Lupin asked with a hint of skepticism, his brows furrowed, "When nobody has ever done it before?"

"H-He's got dark powers the rest of us can only dream of!" Pettigrew shouted, "How else did he get out of there?! I suppose He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named taught him a few tricks."

Sirius had begun to laugh, A horrid, empty laugh that filled the room, "Voldemort, teach me tricks?" Pettigrew recoiled as if Black had struck him with a whip,

"What, scared to hear your old masters name?" Black yelled suddenly, "I don't blame you, Peter, his lot aren't very happy with you, are they?"

A soft groan drew Lupins attention, was Seren finally waking up?

"I don't know what you mean, Sirius." Pettigrew whimpered pathetically, "You haven't been hiding from me for twelve years." Black's face grew more vicious, "You've been hiding from Voldemorts old Supporters! People in Azkaban Talk, Peter, they all think you're dead or you'd have to answer to them. Sounds like they think the double-crosser double-crossed them." Pettigrew shrank back,

"Voldemort went to the potters on your information, and he met his downfall there. Not all of Voldemorts supporters ended up in Azkaban, did they? There are plenty out here. Biding their time, pretending they've seen the error of their ways..."

'torturing children...' Remus thought with disgust as he continued to block Seren from Peter line of sight.

"If they ever got wind that you were still alive, Peter..."

"Don't know what you're talking about!" Pettigrew wailed again, another soft groan of pain echoed behind Remus, he looked back briefly to see Seren's hand twitch slightly. "You don't believe this...this madness, Remus?"
