My Gorgon

Prologue

End of Last School year

(A/N: They just finished their last year of middle school. Alex, Matt, and Sapph are currently 14.)

Alexandria's pov:

Deuce comes up to me as I was waiting for my twin brother and sister, and says, "Alex, we're hanging together this summer, right?" I look at him and give him the look 'you serious'. I say, "Duh, Deuce. We always hang out over the summer, plus there is something we need to talk about." He tilts his head at me. I get ready to say something and Heath, our best friend, approaches us. "What up dude and dudette?" Heath hugs me and does his handshake with Deuce. "Nothing Heath, just talking about summer plans," I tell him. Heath looks at me with a look I know all too well, 'you gonna tell him' and I nod. Before Deuce can question anything, my phone starts ringing and I walk towards the front doors of Monster High.

Phone conversation:

(A is Alex and M is her mom)

A: hey mom

M: hey baby, you almost done with your goodbyes?

A: yeah mom, I just have to say bye to Heath and Deuce and I'm waiting for Matt and Sapph

M: no need to say bye to Deuce, and they are already outside

A: why not? They are?

M: you'll see. see you soon my little gumdrop, yes sweetheart.

A: oh okay, bye mom

Deuce's pov:

"Dude, you gonna tell her how you feel?" I look at Heath and say, "Yeah, she said we gotta talk about something this summer." He nods and says bye to me and waves at Alex. Alex looks confused about something. I think it's because of the surprise I have for her. She hangs up the phone and walks back to me with a look that says 'something you want to tell me' and I shake my head no with a smirk on my face. She laughs and we head to the front doors of Monster High with smiles on our faces for the exciting summer we are about to have.

We see our moms as well as Alex's twin brother and sister and hug them. "Hey Deuce, are you ready to go?" I look at my mom and nod towards my bags. She smiles and gives one last hug before we head over to where Alex and her mom are. "Alex, we have a surprise for you," She looks over at my mom and tilts her head. "I'm coming and staying with you for the summer." The look of shock and happiness on her face when I tell her makes me smile as she drops her bags and jumps into my arms giving me a huge hug. "Really, you're staying with me all summer? What about when the weekend before school? You have to pack and I know that takes a lot of time." I nod and say, "I am. That weekend is cover by my mom. She offered to pack my stuff for me while we hang out all summer. Don't worry about packing either because your mom has that covered as well." She squeals and hugs me, my mom, and her mom. 

Her mom looks at the time and we know that it is time to go home for the summer. On the way back to Alex's house, her mom asks, "Alex, Matt, and Sapph, what do you want to do for your birthday tomorrow?" Alex looks at her mom and smiles. She says, "Um......I don't know. Maybe just a family dinner." Her mom nods.

Alex's pov:

When we get back to the house, jump up and onto the balcony where my room is. I am tired and I change into pajamas and I snuggle in bed and take a nap. What feels like an hour into my nap, but was really fifteen minutes, I felt my bed dip and arms wrap around me. I turn over and see Deuce. "Hey, What time is it?" He smiles at my tired voice and says, "It is 12:15 p.m. We got home fifteen minutes ago. Also, scooch over, I am tired too." I nod and move over so he can have some room.

About an hour later, I woke up snuggling Deuce and I smiled. Just shortly after I wake up, Deuce wakes up. "Hey, wolfy." "Hey, snake." I snuggle more into his warmth and he smiles. About ten minutes later my mom called lunch. We groan and head downstairs for lunch. When we get downstairs, we smell the most delicious thing ever. My mom's chicken alfredo with scream cheese garlic bread. My siblings are at the table eating when we sit down with food.

"So how was school, sis?" My older brother asks. I nod and say, "It was good. Better with Deuce by my side helping me through it." Deuce nods and my brother silently thanks Deuce. Lunch was quiet and after lunch Deuce and I went back up to my room and chilled. We watch Harry Potter and at some point, I fall asleep again. I'm woken up hours later to the smell of dinner.

For dinner it was simple. It was deer.

After dinner, Deuce and I get ready for bed and sleep the rest of the night.
