The gang's in jail but Gingershy is the only one home
TBD = Time Balance Department

I guess they didn't listen to me.
I laid in the bed that me and Wild Strawberry Cookie shared, they were in jail, all of them, for how long? I wasn't sure.
But I want Wild back.
I got up from the bed and went to her closet, I looked through her wear, she had some of the same sweaters she wears. Then she has a formal dress and some other red and black clothes. I decided to take one of the sweaters she wears, the one with the cute devil horns on the hood.
I slipped it on me, leaving my scarf on to be more warmer. I smiled, the sweet aroma of wild strawberries comforted me.
"I miss you." I suddenly murmured, hugging myself, imagining I was hugging a very warm Wild Strawberry Cookie.
I decided to go back to the bed, pulling out my phone just to watch a few videos, hoping I could go to sleep as it's night.
Pulling the blanket covers over me, I snuggled into the hoodie, warming myself up and watching the video before slowly closing my eyes.

I woke up again.
Wild Strawberry wasn't here.
I sighed, getting up and stretching my arms, arching my back so I could get it over with.
I rose from the bed and silently made my way to the kitchen, usually Half Avocado Cookie was here, not anymore.
I sigh, I miss them all. Even if they call me a softy.
Especially Wild Strawberry Cookie.
I go to the fridge and pick out the leftovers of last night, lasagna. I put it on a plate and put it in the microwave to warm up.
Maybe I should visit them, but aren't they somewhere far?
It would be worth it though.
"But I  c-can't drive..." I realized, then losing hope in myself. Like always.
My father was right, I am useless.
𝚈𝚘𝚞'𝚛𝚎 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚜𝚘𝚗 𝚖𝚢 𝚆𝙸𝙵𝙴 𝙳𝙸𝙴𝙳! 𝚈𝙾𝚄 𝙻𝙸𝚃𝚃𝙻𝙴 𝙱𝚁𝙰𝚃!
And the reason she's dead too.
"N-NO!" I yelled, punching the kitchen counter. It left a small dent, I sighed. "It's not my fault..." I whimpered. I slowly wrapped my arms around myself and cried softly, sinking to the kitchen floor. It's not fair. It's not fair! Why couldn't my dad just be the same again?!
But then I wouldn't have met Wild Strawberry Cookie.
The door swung open, then closed.
I got up quickly to the sound and saw Wild Strawberry Cookie. She was facing the door, holding it as if something were to bang and knock it down. She was breathing heavily.
"Shy?" She turned, then sighed in relief. "Oh thank god." Wild ran toward me and gave me a hug, my touch giving her a shudder. "I missed you."
She...missed me?
"M-Me too..." I whispered back, it seemed like a reunion. "What are you...d-doing here?" I pulled away, she pulled away to, looking at the door.
"Hiding." She murmured. Looking at me again, she looked at what I was wearing. "Are you wearing my sweater? Crying too?"
I realized that I was wearing her clothes, and realized the tears still dripping from my eyes.
"D—Don't worry about that!" I wiped my eyes with the sleeves of the sweater. "We should...h-hide." I took her hand in mine, making her shiver again, and we made our way to our room.

————

"We aren't hiding?! Shy—your kidding?" Wild looked at me confused, I shook my head.
"I-I'll talk them out of it." I promised, but she shook her head.
"You barely can stand up for yourself I'm just scared that-" She trailed off, sighing. "We can try."
"T—Thank you." I smiled, Wild nodded.
"Anyway, reason for the crying and sweater?"
I froze, I didn't wanna tell her, the whole situation seemed dumb. And that's what I am...
"J—Just don't worry a—bout it..." My voice cracked in the process, Wild Strawberry Cookie came closer to me.
"Doesn't seem good bud." She said, I shook my head.
"N-No more questions."
"I wasn't asking Shy, I was just wondering-"
"W-Why do you care?" I replied.
"Because..." Wild lended out her hand to me, wanting to be touched with mine. "You seem on edge, on the brink to cr-"
"W-WHY DO YOU CARE ABOUT ME?!"
Wild Strawberry looked at me.
I covered my mouth. I'm turning like my dad...b-but I don't wanna hurt anyone...
"I should be saying the same as well..." She sighed, sitting on the bed. "Why do you care about me?"
I sat with her, "W-Well..."
I sighed.
"Because you saved me. You're my lifeline. And...you're u-uh...cute..."
"Cute?" Wild Strawberry pondered, blushing a bit. "Uh, me?"
"Y-Y-Yeah..." I smiled a little.
"W—Well, you're cuter!" She exclaimed, making me blush hard. "So, ha!" She pulled her hoodie down, she had reddish-white hair, and it made me blush even more. "See? Not THAT CUTE!"
"B-But...you'reevencuterwiththehoodieoff!" I covered my face, and I heard Wild say, "a-".
"Y-You—ngh!" Wild Strawberry Cookie pouted, huffing angrily. "I'm never cute, I'm a rebel! They shouldn't have that affect on cookies!"
"A cute rebel...with a nice affect..." I whispered. Luckily she didn't hear it.
"N-Now uh...why do you care about me?"
She sighed, "I guess you could say I need you. Your...affection if-" She shivered. "if that's what it's called. And besides...you had a bad past. I wanna make sure you're safe...you know?" Her hair flowed as she stretched her arms. "I just don't want anyone thinking I'm weak as well."
"Oh."
Silence got into our conversation, I was a bit uncomfortable, it being just my crush and I.
"They're gonna take you away soon..." I mumbled.
"Don't put it that way." Wild muttered back.
"Just stay..." I hugged her, bringing my face on her shoulder. She flinched but let me rest on her, huffing in embarrassment. "You n—never listen, I say don't get yourself caught and...you still do."
"But I manage to get out."
"Yet...I miss you when you're gone."
"I—I...miss you too."
I turn to look at her, visible tears started to quiver near her eyes.
"T-Twizzly...yells at me sometimes and...believe it or not it scares me. Like how your dad used to yell at you. I had Toothpaste as my shield, that's why I'm close to him. Peeled Carrot and Half Avacado defend me too, mostly Half though." She explained, softening her gaze and letting her tears fall. "But...no one ever...gave affection to me. Yeah, family jokes and all but...not hugs or anything."
I wanted to kiss her, and tell her it was all okay.
"I'm afraid that too much affection will lower my guard down. And...that people would think of me as weak."
So bad, I wanted to kiss her.
"I hate my stupid—touch-starved self!"
"D-Don't." I pulled her close to me, she let me, she didn't push away, she wanted this. Wild Strawberry Cookie rested her head on my shoulder, fighting back her cries and leaving them as unfinished whimpers.
"I-I love you." I confessed.
"I love you too." She said back to me. "Your...ngh, ice blue eyes are nice to look at."
"They are?"
"Yeah."
Moments of silence pass by.
"Can we hug, uh, before I go?" Wild Strawberry asked me, I nodded.
We both got into the covers, Wild let herself hold onto me with her hands and arms and legs. I held onto her tightly, embracing the warmth of her for what could be the last time.

———

"She's here, somewhere that rascal should be hiding..."
I woke up, opening my eyes slowly, I heard them.
The TBD.
I looked at Wild Strawberry Cookie, she was soundly asleep, not hearing of anything.
"I'll keep you here. Safe and warm. I promise Wild." I gently kissed her forehead, I saw her nuzzle into my chest. It was adorable, seeing her all affectionate for the first time without the rest of the gang here.
The door opened.
String Gummy Cookie and Croissant Cookie came in and looked straight at me.
String Gummy had a gun.
"You there, you with her?" String's voice pierced through me, scaring me, reminding me of my horrible father.
"Y—Yes but—I didn't do anything!" I hugged Wild tighter, she mumbled but still softly snores against me. I looked to her and back at the two TBD workers.
"She has to come with us." Croissant Cookie told us gently, she knows I'm scared.
"N-No, I want her to stay." My voice cracked.
"You don't know what this little mistake has done?" String Gummy Cookie came closer to me, I froze, but soon turned frustrated. Mistake?!
No one calls my Wild that.
"SHE ISN'T A MISTAKE! YOU'RE JUST ASSUMING SHIT!"
I surprised myself.
I'm not turning like him, right?
No, I wouldn't, I can't even hurt anyone.
"She isn't..." I said again, looking at her. "Y-You wouldn't understand if you tried."
I started to cry, pulling Wild Strawberry Cookie closer. Who am I to believe talking out of it would work? She's gonna drift away...like mom did...
"String? We shouldn't, look at the poor kid." Croissant Cookie said to her partner, he only grumbled.
"Look kid, you have others to care for you. Why do you need her?" String Gummy sat on our bed, Croissant stood by him, she had sympathy on me.
"I don't have anyone. My father was abusive and my mom died. I only have her." I said, holding Wild Strawberry Cookie closer.
"Shy, what happened...? You...You're crying again..." Wild perked up to meet my eyes, she cupped my cheek gently with her hand. Her tired gaze softened to comfort me. I shook my head.
"T-They're here." I whispered.
Wild Strawberry turned her gaze to the two TBD operatives. Glaring.
"You made him cry?" She sat up, looking at them.
"Look, you know you have to go away." String said, his gaze was neutral...and always neutral...
"I don't if I don't want to. He needs me, who's gonna care for him? The dust?" Wild placed her arm on my back.
"You've...committed a lot." Croissant told us, she growled.
"I've changed. And besides, with him here, he'll keep me out of trouble unlike...them."
"Then let's settle this."
String Gummy Cookie looked at his partner but she didn't even flinch.
"We'll check back in a few days, I'll come sometimes to give you some food and if you don't do anything," She looked to Wild Strawberry Cookie. "maybe we'll let you go."
"S-So," I started, my eyes brightening. "s-s-she can stay?"
Croissant looked at me, nodding with a soft smile.
"T—T-Thank you!" I turned to bury myself in Wild's hair, she froze before hugging back, ignoring her touch-starved feelings.
"I'm staying Shy." She whispered. "Don't worry..."
"I assume you like her very much. It's adorable." Croissant giggled, nudging String Gummy who softened his emotion. Smiling only a bit.
"Like her? I love her!" I hugged her even tighter, Wild Strawberry kissed my cheek, making me calm down a little with my happiness.
"I love you too, Gingershy." Wild Strawberry Cookie told me, laughing a bit.
She was staying.
She's really staying.
I lowered my scarf to trail a kiss to her mouth, and Wild didn't even mind.
