CHAPTER ONE : MEET TANIA

Today feels like an exciting milestone for me. I've been thinking about it for days, and I couldn't help but feel a little bit of butterflies in my stomach. It's the first time I'm meeting Adrian's daughter, Tania.

Adrian and I had talked about introducing each other to our kids for a while now, and it feels like we're taking another step forward in our relationship. There's something about being in a blended family that's so incredibly special—seeing your life merge with someone else's, especially when there are kids involved.

It's one thing to date someone, but it's a whole other thing to introduce your children to the person you're seeing. You want everything to go smoothly, and more than anything, you want to see your kids connect.

Yesterday, Adrian met True and my son, and the sight of him with them just made my heart swell. I can genuinely see a future with Adrian—a future with a blended family, with everyone getting along and building strong bonds. Seeing Adrian with my kids made me feel hopeful and happy. And now it's my turn to meet Tania, and I really want her to feel welcome in my home.

I had heard so many wonderful things about her, and knowing she's around the same age as Dream (Rob's daughter) made me feel even more excited. I have so many toys and books that Dream loves, and I was hoping Tania would enjoy them too. I want her to feel like she has a space here, just like I hope True and my son feel in Adrian's home.

As I'm getting lunch ready in the kitchen, I hear the front door close and the familiar sound of footsteps coming down the hallway. My heart skips a beat. It's the moment I've been waiting for. I quickly wash my hands and dry them off on a kitchen towel, making sure everything is ready for Tania's arrival. I want this moment to feel easy and natural, like I'm welcoming a friend's daughter into my life, which, in many ways, I am.

Adrian steps into the kitchen first, holding Tania's hand. My smile is instant. She looks just like Adrian—a mini version of him with the same warmth in her eyes. She's adorable, and I can tell she's already so comfortable being here. I feel that same warmth myself. Adrian leans in to introduce us, his voice gentle but excited.

"Tania, I would like you to meet daddy's girlfriend, Khloé," Adrian says with a smile that makes me melt just a little.

I bend down to her level, extending my hand in a welcoming gesture. "Hi, Tania, I'm Khloé, it's nice to meet you! I heard you love fairies and cats." I hope that mentioning something she likes will make her feel a little more at ease. Kids can be so intuitive, and I want to make sure she knows she's in a safe, fun place.

"Hi, Khloé, and I do," Tania replies, her voice soft but confident as she shakes my hand. There's something so sweet about the way she says it, like she's already found a friend in me. It makes me feel hopeful for what's to come.

"That's great, because I have a room filled with cats and fairies for you to play with," I tell her with a grin. "But first, I want you to meet my daughter, True." I'm genuinely excited for the two of them to meet because True has such a playful spirit, and I can see Tania's energy is just as warm.

I stand up and call out for True. "True! Can you come here, please?"

From somewhere in the house, I hear True's sweet voice calling out, "Where are you, Mommy?"

"In the kitchen!" I reply, my excitement bubbling up.

True comes running into the kitchen with that big, beaming smile of hers. She looks at Adrian and Tania and immediately says, "Hello!" She stands right next to me, holding my hand like she always does when she meets new people.

I introduce the girls to each other. "True, this is Tania. Tania, this is my daughter True." True, always the social butterfly, wastes no time and immediately asks Tania, "Do you want to play with me?"

"Sure," Tania replies, a shy smile crossing her face. It's such a sweet moment, and I'm so relieved that they are getting along right away.

True grabs Tania's hand and leads her out of the kitchen to the playroom. Adrian and I exchange a smile, watching our little girls run off together. As they disappear down the hall, I turn to Adrian, feeling a mix of pride and hope for the future.

"I think that went well," Adrian says, walking over to me and planting a gentle kiss on my lips. His words mean so much to me because I know how important this is for both of us. Seeing our kids start to bond feels like the beginning of something beautiful.

"I think so too," I agree. "Hopefully, Tania and True can bond more as time goes on. I want to get to know her better and make sure she feels comfortable here."

Adrian nods, his gaze softening as he looks at me. "I think you guys will bond easily. You're both great with kids." He knows me well—children are such a big part of my life, and making sure Tania feels at home is just as important to me as making sure True feels at home with Adrian. Blending families takes time, but I'm ready for it.

Adrian glances over at the stove, clearly curious about lunch. "Now, what are you serving for lunch?" he asks with a smile, his tone playful.

"For the girls, I'm doing broccoli florets, chicken nuggets, roasted sweet potato, and tiny sandwiches cut into the shape of a cat," I tell him, with a touch of pride. "I've also got artfully sliced cucumber, mini wraps, and two portions of fruit—watermelon slices in the shape of stars and a handful of raspberries and blueberries." I want lunch to feel fun and special for the girls, and I think the little touches will make it feel more exciting for them.

"And for us, grilled chicken breast with white rice, broccoli florets, and a fresh salad," I add.

"Sounds good," Adrian says, clearly pleased. I'm glad he approves. Cooking for someone you care about is always a way to show you care, and I want to make sure everyone feels nourished—physically and emotionally.

Later that night, as I'm getting ready for a double date night with Kassie and Leandro, I can't help but feel excited about the day. It's been so wonderful having Tania here, and I'm looking forward to spending more time with her. Adrian is changing Tania into her pajamas so she can stay the night in True's room, and I take a moment to admire myself in the mirror. Getting ready for a night out with Adrian feels like a breath of fresh air after all the family moments today.

I walk downstairs to find the nanny and True on the couch, and True immediately runs over to me with a huge smile. "Mommy, you look beautiful!" she says, throwing her little arms around my legs. Her compliment makes my heart swell. It's moments like these that remind me of how much I cherish being a mother.

"Thank you, True," I reply, feeling so lucky to have her in my life.

Tania comes running into the living room then, and I'm so surprised at how comfortable she already seems with me. "You look pretty, Koko," she says with a grin, and I can't help but smile back. She's already made herself at home, and it feels so natural to have her around.

"Thank you, Tania," I say, bending down to give her a hug.

Adrian walks in behind her, smiling at both of us. "She's right, you do look pretty," he says, his eyes full of warmth and admiration as he looks at me. The way he looks at me makes me feel like I'm the only person in the room.

"Thank you," I say, my voice soft. "And you look handsome." I make sure he knows how much I appreciate him, and how lucky I feel to be with someone like him.

"Thank you. Now, are you ready to leave?" Adrian asks, his voice warm but with a hint of anticipation. I'm ready to have a fun night out with him.

"I'm ready," I say, and I turn to let the nanny know what time we'll be back. "Bye, girls," I say as I give Tania and True a kiss.

"Bye, Koko!" Tania calls out, and True echoes, "Bye, A!"

Adrian grabs my hand as we head out the door, and I feel so excited for what's to come. We're building something special here—a family, a life together. It feels right.

"Let's go," Adrian says with a smile, leading me out the door, ready to embrace whatever the night holds.
