They only had a day to spend in Luxembourg before they were taking the night train back to Paris and they decided to make the best of it. They put their backpacks in a locker at the train station and took the bus into town, pleasantly surprised to find that public transportation was free, and decided to use that to their advantage.

"So what do you wanna see in Luxembourg?" Louis asked.

"Castles." Harry replied.

"As in plural?" Louis chuckled.

"Yep. Vianden Castle, Bourscheid Castle, Clearvaux Castle..."

"That's a lot of castles! Are they all in the city?" Louis asked.

"No, but we can go on a hop-on-off-castle tour." Harry said.

"Alright, let's do it!" Louis agreed.

Harry had already googled the company and address for the buses and they were lucky. A tour started in twenty minutes. They got on the bus.

The first stop was in Mullerthal. Schiessentümpel was a beautiful waterfall and they walked around for 45 minutes with their tour guide while Harry snapped loads of pictures. It was a beautiful day and they were both sweaty when they returned to the bus.

The next stop was the Castle of Beaufort and they got to explore the medieval castle and the surroundings by themselves for another 45 minutes before it was time to return to the bus.
"Okay, this is seriously cool. Great idea, Hazza." Louis smiled.

Harry beamed. They headed to the medieval town of Vianden and when the tour guide told them that they had two hours to spend sightseeing they decided to try the local cuisine for lunch. They walked around the small town after that and checked out the impressive castle as well.

The last stop on their trip was Luxembourg's oldest town, Echternach. The tour guide told them that it was founded in 698 by the Benedictine monk Willibrord before he let them wander around for 45 minutes. They visited the Basilica, the abbey, and the marketplace before they got on the bus again that would take them back to Luxembourg city.
"This was the perfect end of this amazing backpacking trip. We've seen so many awesome places and we have done so many things, but I don't think I'll be eating at MacDonald's again for a long time." Louis said.

They had time for a late dinner and some sightseeing in the city before they had to get back to the train station. Louis looked at a map of Luxembourg on his phone as they waited for the train to arrive.
"Dickweiler! We're going there next time we're visiting Luxembourg." He said, sounding amused.

Next time. Harry's chest felt warm.
"Yeah? What's there?"

"I don't know, I just love the name." Louis smirked.

Harry giggled and looked it up.
"Village in eastern Luxembourg. Population: 107."

"Great!" Louis grinned.

Harry clicked on images.
"Look, a nice church, cute houses. It seems great. We're definitely going there."

Louis just smiled at him. The train arrived so they grabbed their backpacks and found their cupé. They had booked a private one for once. Then they didn't have to disturb other passengers when they were talking.

As they crawled up in the bunk bed on the night train Harry couldn't hold back any longer. He needed to tell Louis how he felt. His heart was pounding and he gulped nervously.
"Lou?"

"Yeah?" Louis replied.

"I need to tell you something." Harry said with a shaky voice. Why was this so scary? The scariest thing he had ever done.

"That sounds serious. Are you okay?" Louis wondered. He turned his head and scooted to the side so he could look at him.

"Yeah, it's not... I'm okay. I just want to tell you something." Harry said nervously.

"I'm listening." Louis said.

It was dark in the cupé but the moonlight illuminated Louis' face.
"This trip has been amazing." He started off, trying to build up the courage to reveal his feeling.

"It really has. I'm so glad that I found you in Paris. I thought about talking to you on the train from London but I was too coward." Louis smiled.

"Really?" Harry questioned.

"Yeah, so you were saying?" Louis urged him to continue.

Harry took a deep breath.
"Ehm, so, I hope that you would want to see me when we're back in England because...because I have fallen in love with you and I hope this is the beginning of..."

Louis interrupted him by pressing their lips together.
"I'm in love with you too. Yes, of course, I want to see you at home. I can't wait for you to come to London."

"Why haven't you said anything?" Harry wondered, smiling happily. Louis was in love with him.

"I was going to. I was nervous. Thought I would wait until we were in Paris." Louis replied.

"That was my plan too." Harry chuckled.

"I'm glad you told me now. Do you by any chance have any interest in being my boyfriend?" Louis wondered and Harry felt how he was holding his breath waiting for his answer. He thought about teasing him but he didn't want to be cruel.

"I would love to." Harry said softly.

Louis kissed him again and they ended up having sex on a train to Paris. Thank God they took a private cupé!

Afterward, they just lay there making up plans for the future.
