Bokuto's POV:I slowly stirred awake due to the whistling of a tea kettle.
I sat up and stretched my arms with a loud yawn. My vision was still a bit blurry so I wiped my eyes and looked around. I recognized the place as Kuroo's living room so I looked behind me to the kitchen. There I saw Kuroo's mom and Akaashi preparing breakfast with Akaashi taking a sip out of his mug of what I assumed was coffee.
The woman noticed me because the next thing I heard was her saying "Good morning" with her husband who was sitting by the table following after.
At that statement Akaashi's eyes flickered over to me also bidding me morning but then turned around continuing with the preparation.
I slightly frowned, wanting more of Akaashi's attention but my mood shifted for the better nevertheless when I stood up and asked Mrs. Kuroo if she needed any more help.
"Oh I don't think there's much to help with really," she said and stopped her actions thinking, "Oh, could you please wake Tetsuro and Kenma up? I was planning on waking y'all up sooner or later." She said and I beamed in joy. The thought of waking them up appealed to me very much.
"Sure, can I just borrow two pans please?" I asked to which Mrs. Kuroo looked at me with one of her eyebrows raised.
"Sure, go ahead." She smirked and motioned for the pans.
I gladly took them and headed to the room the two boys were sleeping in.
I looked at them sleeping peacefully with a devilish grin. I walked into the gap between the bed and mattress, breathed in and started banging my two beautiful instruments against each other.
"WAKE UP SLEEPYHEADSSSSS!!! WAKE UP, WAKE UP, WAKE UP" I kept on repeating until I got hit by a pillow coming from Kuroo. "I'M NOT AN ALARM CLOCK SO YOU CAN'T STOP ME!" I screamed and started making my handmade alarm clock noises.
Kuroo groaned in annoyance but then in a blink of an eye he darted towards me and I started running for my life.
"COME HERE YOU SICK SON OF AN ANNOYING CLOCK." He yelled somewhere from behind me.
"WHA-" I couldn't even finish the word as I burst into laughter from his attempted insult.
We passed through the kitchen into the living room where I realized that I was trapped in a dead end.
I turned around facing a slowly approaching Kuroo with even messier hair than usual if that's even possible. He looked like he was about to end me but I still tried to escape...unsuccessfully.
When I tried to pass by him he grabbed me and yanked me onto the couch. I was preparing to make a run for it again until Mrs. Kuroo broke the fight by scolding us, well, more like scolding Kuroo.
"Hey! Be careful on those Kuroo Tetsuro or I will do the same damage on you as you do on those pans." She raised her voice.
Ouch, she cared about those pans more than me getting killed.
"Yeah, sorry mom." He apologized in a surprisingly quiet voice. Ha, what a mama's boy, I thought with a quiet chuckle.
I stood up and apologized too, putting the pans at their assigned spot.
"Breakfast is ready so feel free to sit wherever you want." She announced and started putting along with Akaashi a variety of food on the table.
The two of us sitting both widened our eyes at the amount of food that was put on the table.
"This is too much, thank you Mrs. Kuroo!" I thanked, along with Kuroo.
"Oh no problem," she smiled, "with Akaashi by my side everything is easier, right Kuroo?" She teased.
"Hey! I'm not THAT bad at cooking." He defeated himself and I stuck out my tongue at him.
"At least Kuroo doesn't accidentally set the kitchen on fire." Akaashi said, eyeing me with an amusingly crooked smile.
"Wha- oh come on, that happened ONE time" I said, showing one on my hand.
"Still can happen in the future." He said and turned around to leave.
"Huh, where are you going?" I questioned, leaving the MEAN insult behind.
"I already ate." He answered and continued walking.
"WHAT, that means there's even more food to eat." Kuroo said dumbfounded.
"Aghashiii, don't leave me here with him." I whined, pointing at the one sitting next to me in hopes to get him back.
"No." Was his answer before he sat on the couch grabbing a book that was there.
I scoffed and returned to the food. I picked out something, not really caring what it was and munched on it.
"Where is Kenma? I thought you woke him up?" Mrs. Kuroo, questioned and right before I could say anything Kuroo responded.
"He's still asleep...I think, let him be." He said, still munching on his own food.
Then Kuroo abruptly stood up and before any of us could ask him what was wrong he was gone. Mrs. Kuroo looked at me questioningly to which I just shrugged and looked over to where I saw Kuroo leave.
Then we could both hear distant shouts and I put my hand on my mouth to prevent me from laughing.
"You can't play all day and night!"
"I can do whatever I want! Now give it back!" And the bickering continued so on. It even seemed as if Kenma never left.
"Were they always like this?" A voice interrupted my thought.
"Sometimes," I answered honestly with a smile, facing Mrs. Kuroo who laughed as well.
The bickering became louder as a struggling Kuroo came into view with him holding Kenma who was fighting for his life to get out of his grasp.
"Let me go and give me my fucking game!" Hissed Kenma as Kuroo placed him in a chair.
"Never!" Kuroo argued back as he held Kenma's shoulders to keep him in place.
"No swearing in my house!" Mrs. Kuroo broke up the fight. Both of them calmed down and just sent each other death stares.
Damn, Kuroo's mom does have a really high authority here.
I was already done eating unlike those two who just came a second ago so I went over to Akaashi and sat next to him.
"Whatcha reading?" I asked to start a conversation.
"Something Kuroo's mother recommended." He said and showed me the cover.
"Cool." I commented.
"They're arguing like a married couple." Akaashi scoffed, continuing to read as the two in the kitchen argued about Kenma having to eat food.
"Or a mother and a child" I said with a crooked smile.
He spared me a small glance and smiled a bit. "Facts." he approved and continued with his book once again.
My mind stopped functioning for a second, screaming nonsense, not being able to comprehend Akaashi's smile.
HE FREAKING SMILED AND HE GETS 1000X PRETTIER WHEN HE DOES. Was all I could think of and before even thinking it through, my mouth recited my thoughts.
"You're really pretty when you smile." I said in admiration as I stared at him.
My mind realized too late as Akaashi looked at me with slightly wider eyes and muttered a soft thank you.
I don't know why, but every time I compliment Kuroo it's different than with Akaashi. With Kuroo its way easier, that's for sure.
"...I'm bored," I whined, leaning on Akaashi to get his attention.
"Not my problem." He waved off.
I huffed but my mood immediately shifted when Kuroo came.
"Yo guys wanna go outside to get some fresh air? We could also play some volleyball." He asked with a smirk that was directed to me.
"Heck yeah! Let's go bro!" I exclaimed, standing up and dragging Akaashi with me to follow Kuroo.
