Callie missed the Cullens every day, she tried to call them, but she only received a voicemail. Jacob was worried about her and Bella, and Embry with Quil was worried about Callie too. The only people who knew about her situation when she was home, were the Cullens, Bella, and Jacob. And Callie was scared that Embry and Quil will found out one day too.
, Callie! Come down here!" Callie heard her father's voice from downstairs. , I'm coming!" Callie rolled her eyes and run to the kitchen. , We need to talk about your grades. And the boys you're hanging with" Callie's father, Benjamin said. , What? Why?" Callie asked confused. Benjamin was angry at her for no reason again. , You are failing math again" Benjamin said to her. , I will do better, I promise" Callie said. She was scared, she knew what he could do. , And stop going out with the boys. They're bad for you. I wouldn't be even surprised if you already slept with them!" Benjamin said again with a glare on his face. , What? They're my friends! I didn't sleep with them! Why would I do that?" Callie raised her voice, making Benjamin angry. , I don't care! You will stop going out with them! And don't raise your voice at me, young lady!" Benjamin shouted and stood up from his chair, making Callie back up. , I'm sorry" Callie said.
Benjamin ignored her and slapped her in her face, making her fall to the ground. , What the hell dad?!" She shouted at him, but he kicked her to her stomach making her cry out because of the pain. Benjamin kicked her again, but then he just walked up to the fridge and grabbed a bottle of vodka. Callie glared at him and stood up. She was sure that she's gonna have to a bruise on her cheek and stomach, but she didn't care. Callie grabbed her keys and walked away from the house. She then got into her car and drove away.
Callie stopped at Jacobs's house. She got out of the car and knocked on the doors. Jacob opened to her, Embry and Quil behind him. , Are you okay?" Jacob asked her when he noticed the tears in her eyes and her cheek that was turning slowly to blue. , No" Callie shook her head. That was the first time she said she wasn't fine. And maybe the last time she would say that. Jacob let her in his house and exchanged looks with Embry and Quil. Callie noticed that Embry was looking sicker than usual. The four friends sat on the couch in Jacob's living room in silence, until Jacob broke it.
, Just my dad again, you know how he is. But it's too much, after the Cullens left, my dad got worse, and Bella got worse. I don't know what to do" Callie frowned. , What's up with your dad?" Quil asked her. , Nothing, nothing. I will tell you someday. Just, not now" Callie smiled at Quil. , Okay... So... Do you guys want to watch something?" Embry changed the topic and looked at Callie. , Yeah sure" Jacob nodded and they put some movies on.
