months passed and you and nayeon truly became the closest of friends. you two had become inseparable when you both were together. if she was free, you'd be the first one to call and vice versa.

but when she had gotten casted in the survival show, 'sixteen', that time together eventually lessened. it was tough. watching her get put through so much but you knew she would come out on top.

there wasn't a doubt in your mind as you always gave her your unwavering support. she had dreams she wanted to pursue and you were there for her every step of the way.

you were practically jumping up and down when you saw nayeon became part of jyp's new nine member group, twice. when she was free from her schedule, you immediately called nayeon and you could only hear small whimpers on the other side of the call as she picked up.

you sat up in your chair as you held the phone close to your ear, "nayeon? what's wrong?"

you heard another sniffle before she softly spoke up, "it's nothing... i'm just so happy... i worked so hard and it paid off. i wanted to give up so much but you kept cheering me on... thank you y/n."

you let out a sigh of relief as you laid back in your chair, "that's nonsense. you would have done it with or without me."

she let out a small chuckle as you heard her rustling and moving around on the other side of the call, "now i can keep that promise to you. do you remember?"

"the new laptop? you don't need to do that nay. truly."

"i want to get you something to show my appreciation for you. even if it's something as small as a laptop."

"small?" you joked, "you're already moving on up in the world nay."

"you'll be going up with me y/n. that's a promise."
