Chapter 8

Nova
"I got it." I yell rushing down the stairs after I hear the door bell ring.

I open the door thinking it was Nahmari, but to my surprise it was Daisuke. My smile immediately drops as the tension sets in.

"What are you doing here?" I ask trying not to show any emotion.

"You left your bag at my place." He smiles handing me my bag.

"Thanks." I say starting to close the door but he stops me.

"Nova can I please explain it's not what you think I promise you."

"I think your mom did all the explaining for you."

"No she.."

"Nova who's at the door?" My mom asks as she walks up to the door cutting off Daisuke's sentence.

"Oh Daisuke, I haven't seen you in forever, look how much you've change, you got taller too. Come in, I just finished making Sunday dinner." She says Grabbing his hand.

"Actually he was just leaving." I say trying to get him to leave.

"Oh really?"

"You know what, on second thought I think I'll stay." He smiles at me as he walks inside shutting the door.

My mom just had to come see who it was, with her nosy self. I sigh following behind them this is going to be an awkward dinner.

My phone dings with a text from  Nahmari saying she couldn't make it. I sigh texting her back, I guess this is good because If she did come she wouldn't have shut up about how I should take Daisuke back. 

"Go set up the table with Daisuke." My mom says pushing me into the dining room.

I really didn't want to be alone with him right now. I started putting plates on the table as quickly as I could, trying to avoid unnecessary conversation.

"Nova." Daisuke says grabbing my hand stopping my  movement.

I pull hand away from him and look at him.

"Are you going to ignore me the whole time?" He asks.

"Yeah I plan on it."

"You can't possibly think that's going to work." He smiles.

"It's working just fine." 

"Oh but is it, you're talking me me right now." He leans in whispering in my ear. His breath against my skin made me wanna fold but I knew I had to resist.

"This doesn't count."

"Oh but it does." He smirks, wrapping  his arm around my waist pulling me closer to him;  his scent engulfing me. I wanted to kiss him so bad.

"Nova, come put the food on the table." My mom calls pulling me from his trance.

I push my self out of his hold going to the kitchen, he's got game I'll give him that. I bring the food back the the table sitting down, Daisuke next to me and my mom and dad in front of us.

"How have you been Daisuke, I haven't seen you in so long." My mom says starting the conversation.

"I've been pretty good I've been working at a car detailing shop since I graduated."

"Oh really, I'll have to come see your work." My mom smiles.

Daisuke nods and starts to eat his food the room going quiet.

"Nova told us what happened." My dad says breaking the silence.

Daisuke looks at me confused and panicked at the same time.
