NOTE: This series is discontinued"You can come out now. You're not that good at hiding yourself in case you didn't know."
Who the hell does he think he is?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You were on your way to the next target, it may have been late, but you needed to get this one done. Otherwise, you wouldn't hear the end of it from your parents when you got home. Sighing, you kept walking until you found the clearing in the woods that your target was supposed to be camping at.
But...
Someone was already here?
You shrunk into the bushes, trying your best to conceal yourself from whomever this was.
It was someone with shockingly white hair and pale skin. His hands were behind his head, and you noticed the blood on them.
He had this aura about him. You couldn't place your finger on it. It was daunting. When he turned around you finally got a good look at the boy's face. He had a tired expression. That wasn't what made you pause though; it was his eyes.
They had a soul-piercing quality.
They were beautiful, in a twisted, strange way. Like a never-ending abyss.
You couldn't stop staring at them. Realizing what you were doing, you looked at your target. Or at least what was. The boy left the man as a crumpled heap on the moonlit grass.
His eyes lingered on the trees around you before turning back around.
"You can come out now. You're not that good at hiding yourself in case you didn't know."
Okay. Rude. Who the hell does he think he is?
Walking out of the bushes, you went to examine the person.
It's so clean...?
It pissed you off that he had the gall to even touch your job, but at the same time you were kind of impressed by how smoothly he killed the man.
"Are you just gonna stand there or are you gonna tell me what you want?"
He was confident.
Too confident.
You didn't like it.
"I'll be the one asking questions. First of all, who are you? Second, why did you kill my target?"
"First, Killua Zoldyck. Second, I'm sorry, I didn't realize he was yours."
Zoldyck.. where've you heard that name before?
Wait.
"It's... it's fine. However, I believe you owe me something for that." you replied
Killua did an over dramatic sigh, "If I have to. I think it's ruder that you've had me introduce myself without introducing yourself fir-"
"F/n. F/n L/n." you said, cutting him off
His face changed. It became more tense, but he still didn't give up that stupid grin.
"Nice to meet you, Y/n. About what I owe you, I'll take you to get something to eat. That sound good enough?"
You were actually pretty hungry now that Killua mentioned it. "That's fine, I think there's a ramen place just outside of these woods."
"Lead the way"
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Killua's POV:
L/n... isn't that my family's business partner?
"Killua?"
It could be a coincidence, but I should still be cautious.
"Killua!"
"Ow! That punch hurt you know?" I said, slightly pouting. "Get over it, we're at the ramen place." Y/n said
I hadn't even realized it. The place didn't actually look half bad.
I never get that lost in my thoughts. Whatever, I'm hungry.
"Can we get a table for two please? Thank you." We went to sit down at a table in the back. "Soo, I think it's safe to assume you're an assassin as well?" I said, trying to clear the awkward tension. "I'd say so. Why were you out there in the forest anyways?" Y/n said.
Oh. Why was I there?
"I don't know. I forgot." I replied. There was a long silence.
Y/n coughed. "Okay, then why'd you kill that guy?" "I was bored. He was also super loud and drunk. I think he was babbling about how his wife left him and took the kids? Something like that."
She laughed before clearing her throat and going back to her serious manner just as the waiter came to give us our food. We thanked him and began to eat. Y/n had this look of bliss on her face. Guess she had a soft spot for ramen.
I leaned my head on my hand, having finished my ramen almost instantly. We just sat there enjoying the comfortable silence. Once she finished, I left the cash on our table and got up to leave. "Killua?" "Hm?" "Can I uh.. Can I have your number?" I looked back at her, slightly shocked but at the same time amused.
"Oh ho ho you want my number? Are you saying you're interested in me? I never pegged you for the type. I guess I'll give it to you. If you ask nicely." She crossed her arms. "Seriously? Just give it to me, just because I want your number doesn't mean I'm head over heels for you. I just want it for..business reasons. Nothing more, nothing less."
I grinned. "Didn't I say to ask nicely, Y/n?" She exhaled, "Fine. Can I please have your number?" I started to write it down. "See, that's all you had to do." "Shut up or I'll blow your face in."
Wow. Aggressive much?
A/N: Thank you for reading Chapter 1! I'll be honest, this is my first story, but I hope you enjoyed it. With homework and everything, Chapter 2 will most likely be out within the next one or two weeks. Until next time!
