Still the same AU Ending.

Austin hovered in the doorway to Emily's room. A thousand thoughts were going through his head. He knew once his father was of sane mind and past the first wave of grief Emily would be taken care of immediately. The room would be stripped of everything belonging to her and cleaned tirelessly to prevent any other Dickinson from catching this life ending ailment. He'd be scolded if he entered the chamber and held Emily's hand in these hours after death. Austin decided he didn't care. Austin took Sue's place in the chair and clasped his hands together before hanging his head. He had been so angry with her. It had never crossed his mind that she wouldn't always be around to be angry at.

"Emily," Austin spoke, still not looking at his sister's lifeless form. "I'm sorry." Austin's shoulders shook with each breath. "I may not have shown it often, or properly, but I love you. You're my little sister..." Austin watched as his tears fell to the floor and he closed his eyes moments later. "I should have been a better brother to you." Austin didn't know why he was saying this all, especially because he knew she couldn't hear him. But he had to get it out. "I knew dad hit you-" he voice broke. He took a few breaths. "I should have been there, I should have protected you like a brother should-" Austin wiped his face with his arm. "I guess I always thought I had time to be there, I didn't- I didn't think you wouldn't be around to brighten my day or for me to maybe one day not be awful and be the brother you deserved." Austin stopped talking. The silence that settled in the room felt so wrong. Emily always made things exciting and that was over now. "I'm going to miss you so much." Austin finally looked up at his sister. All the warmth and colour was gone from her face. Nothing could argue anything but death. Emily was dead. A sob escaped Austin and he sat by her bed, crying. Then, a noise. A tapping on the window. At first he didn't notice or care, but the persistence of it, drew his gaze away. He stared at Emily's closed window and felt his sorrow get caught in his throat. A single bumblebee buzzed as it repeatedly flew into the glass. Austin nodded to himself, a pained, unstable smile forcing its way onto his features. Emily. Emily and her bumblebee opera for one last encore. One last goodbye.

I know this one's incredibly short, but Sue deserves her own chapter, don't you think? Anyways the next one is the last one and I may have gone a little creative so hope it's close enough to what you're looking for :)
