Chapter 2: Marking Territory.
"Fuck!" My head kept spinning. How had I let them take me like that? I should have screamed and kicked and bit his hand. My body still remembered his touch, a shiver ran through my body. Just his touch was enough to break me into a thousand pieces, and my brain stopped having its own will. I sat down with the guys and started eating my lunch which consisted of a ham, cheese, tomato, and lettuce sandwich. They both stared at me.
—Sam, you stink like a wolf —Ethan said, wrinkling his nose.
After those words, my appetite disappeared. I put the sandwich down halfway to my mouth and sniffed at myself. "I don't smell anything."
I sighed as I looked around me. There was no trace of that delicious smell that clouded my mind. I shifted on the spot as I looked at both of them.
— I found my mate —I dropped the bomb.
Ethan put down his fork as he looked at me with his eyebrows raised, while Jessie's mouth was on the floor.
— Who is it? —Jessica asked me.
I shook my head. If only I knew...
—I don't know. He's hiding his scent at school —I said, taking a little of my juice. I got nervous when Ethan frowned—. He just ambushed me in the bathroom. He was behind me back and covered my eyes, I couldn't see who it was.
They both tensed. And they looked at each other.
—Why doesn't he want you to know? —Jessie said puzzled.
—I don't know, I don't care either. I just know that I have to say goodbye to studying outside the pack –I said, shrugging my shoulders and grumbling.
Don't get me wrong, if I had a mate; which obviously I have, but he likes to play hide and seek; I would stay. Since I know that the bond, if I'm away for too long, could kill him. For my part, I didn't know how much of the bond I could feel because having more human genes than wolf genes, I might not feel that attraction that they have, like Jessica and her partner, for example. Either way, I would first have to find the wolf responsible for my nervous breakdown.
—If you don't know who he is by the end of the year, they can't blame you for leaving him alone... —Ethan tried to comfort me.
The blond got up from his seat and sat next to me. With my lips pursed, I leaned my head on his shoulder. My friend started stroking my hair.
My senses were awakened by a rush of scent of lemon and cinnamon. I searched like crazy all over the dining room, but it was impossible. First because I no longer felt it, and second because of the number of people on the site. I sighed as I rested my head on the table.
— I felt it again! —I said whimpering—. It's going to drive me crazy!
They both laughed at something I didn't understand, but I let it go, I was so tired and mentally drained.
...
I went into the house, I walked to the kitchen. Mom and Dad were cooking together as usual. He was the leader of the Alpha's guard. Today was his day off, and he was enjoying it with his family.
— Hello daughter, how was your day? —Mom inquired as she made encircling movements in a bowl.
Both, my brother and I were the same as my mother. We were both redhead like her and with honey-colored eyes. Luckily for him, Liam had measured my father's height. On the other hand, I was a little shorter than my mother, who was one meter and fifty-five centimeters.
—Well, luckily —I said, trying to go straight to the bathroom to get the wolf scent that my friends said it had.
– Why do you smell like that? —Liam said, holding his nose and obstructing my escape to the bathroom.
