17. Knowing The Past

SOME BONDS ARE TOO SACRED TO DEFINE , THEIR MEANING IS LOST WHEN WE TRY TO PUT THEM IN WORDS , THEY MUST BE FELT AND REVERED

Sharon walked up to her worrying, as Nandini saw Sharon she burst into tears crying and hugged her tightly . Sharon patted her back , asking her to calm down and tell her what exactly happened . Nandini told her entire story from last night how she kissed him in jealousy and whatever happened in the cabin too. Sharon wiped her tears and said

Sharon: Nandu, please stop crying. Now listen to me very carefully. Nandini looked at her with those teary eyes and cheeks had become more red crying.

Nandini see, everyone does have a past but it is important to move on. It allows you to focus on what you need to do to live in the present moment and become who you really are. Each time a new challenge comes your way, you'll learn how to overcome it. This will allow you to take charge of your goals and your life. Your past doesn't define you , focus on what makes you happy , don't give a damn about things which aren't meant to be . It's all done whatever you were or whatever you had gone through it's over .

Give someone a second chance, nandini, give yourself , it's okay to fall in love again , it's okay to be happy again. Feel your emotions baby.

Nandini : looking at her with those eyes, understanding her every word, whatever Sharon said was right , she held her hand and said Sharon I will try , I will not let my past define me . I guess it's time to move on and be happy and she gave a faint smile .

Sharon: That's like a good girl, chalo common lets go home it's already so late. You need a break, let me make you your favourite pink sauce pasta. She was about to leave and Nandini called her , Sharon turned and asked yes?

Nandini: It's not love though

Sharon: chuckles and shakes her head and moves down waiting for her .

Sharon was waiting for her in the parking lot as she got her own scooty , there she sees Manik entering and going towards his car to leave , she walks up to him and asks him to stop. He turned towards giving her a faint smile and greeted her .

Sharon: Sir, Can I talk to you for a minute. She asks hesitantly .

Manik was already going through alot , he wasn't in the mood too he answered bluntly, Sharon can we do it tomorrow please. And walked upto opening his car door .

Sharon: It's about Nandini , his head turned immediately towards her and he answered not to sound more desperate

Manik: yeah what about her?

Sharon: Sir please listen to me, without assuming anything. I am no one to interfere in anyone's life but Nandini had a very painful past, Her past relationship was completely toxic she had become such a person in the past relationship where she was possessive, obsessive because the guy whom she dated apparently cheated on her and then blamed her for ruining everything. She was mentally broken in college, and till now she hasn't been able to love again or even try to move on. She had closed doors for love a long time back. Don't take her wrong sir , she really is scared to lose everyone who is important to her even you sir.

And sir, she is really special .

Manik: yes, indeed she is special (he whispered slowly)

He looked up to see her eyes and softened Imagining what hell she went through because of her toxic past , he told her that he is getting late and left .

While driving back to home Manik couldn't stop thinking about it . He was feeling guilty about how he treated her today. He reached home and got changed and had dinner .

Garden:

He was stalling around the garden area of his house at 11pm, engrossed in thoughts walking there when his mom saw him . Nyonika walked up to him and placed his hand on his shoulder ,

Nyonika: What's wrong? Aren't you feeling sleepy?

Manik: no it's just some work stress and he was not meeting her gaze.

She caught his hand and walked upto the swing near the garden and he laid his head on her lap .

Nyonika: Manu, won't you tell me now too?

Manik: I am just confused about a lot of things , my mind isn't thinking straight. I don't know whom to listen to, mind or heart?

Nyonika: (she understood that it was related to someone special) So it's related to her ?

Manik: he just didn't answer and said mom um

Nyonika: Manu, always remember whenever it's related to love, always listen to your heart , no matter how much your brains tell you to stop it, don't listen to it .

Manik: Um mom you are taking it wrong, it's not love .

Nyonika: Okay, you genz people I know I am too old for love and all but whatever it is give some time and distance it all be okay . But listen to your heart and you are my punjabi munda , we punjabis never lose hope do we? '

Manik: he got up and hugged her tightly, he got his answers he went up to his room .

He scheduled his meeting tomorrow with the delhi clients and called up his Pa to book the tickets for delhi tomorrow .

It was around 12am, he opened his phone and saw her display on whatsapp and said to himself, "No nandini I won't let you ruin things because of your past . You will move on happily, you can't keep blaming yourself for the things that shit did to you. I am gonna make sure that you open up your feelings and surely am gonna make sure that you make the first move . And he smirked and bit his lips . But some distance baby, you have to realise something .

On the other hand, Nandini was flipping sides on the bed to sleep, sleep was nowhere to be found. She was recalling whatever Sharon explained to her . She was right about everything . To be honest, I really missed Manik, and yes it hurts me alot . His smile, his funny nature, his lips, his mole above the lips, his eyes. I know it's not love but I don't know why he is affecting me so much. Maybe it's an infatuation? Whatever it is as Sharon said, I need to give us a chance, I mean give myself a chance.

Ayyappa, help me to face him again.

Thinking about this, both drifted to sleep in their own bedroom .

The next day, Nandini walked up to his cabin at 9 am, with her office bag she settled down on her chain thinking that he must be in his meeting . She was hell nervous about making a conversation today . 1 hour later his PA came up with some files and told her to start her targets . She asked him how long will Manik sir take?

PA : Manik sir is off to delhi for his meeting, I guess he will come after 2 days .

Nandini: Hearing this she got really upset, she thought maybe things could be better now. Maybe she was missing him too much. Watching his face everyday , his smiling and smirking side made her heart skip every time looking hot with that mole near his lips. His way of making her smile and making her comfortable.

She said " Bloody monster, how can he go for 2 days? , this isn't fair . Has he really gone or is he just finding excuses to stay away from me? Ugh god I can't let this happen. She was sulking thinking and her day went really boring without him.

Let's see what happens when manik comes back , makes her have the first move, wait for the next chapter for lots of romance and twists 😉❤️
