I awkwardly jumped out of my White suv's driver's seat and ran in my 2 inch heels towards the only Two girls I can stand in this high school, regretting my decision to even wear heels, "jessica??" they say in surprised unity, I quickly gave Brea and Colleen an awkward side hug.
"Wow you look.. different!!" Colleen stuttered, absolutely bewildered at my new appearance, Brea smiled nodding swiftly in agreement.
"I know!" I said, gleaming at them. This reunion is super awkward, I haven't seen them all summer! I went to multiple camps and the Bahamas, and spent most of my time with my boyfriend, Billie, he's the most athletic and attractive boy in this whole school. Colleen and Brea were off being extremely busy. They were together very little during the summer, or so I've heard. So I guess I changed a lot considering how much time I was without them plus the effort I put into getting a glow up, and judging by Brea and Colleen's faces I think I succeeded in changing..
We exchanged some more awkward small talk when the warning bell rang less than 2 minutes later and all the students slowly made their way inside the school to get to class. While walking in the halls I couldn't help but notice how many people were staring at us..well actually me.
Of course it was expected, I put a lot of work into looking my finest for the first day of 11th grade. Not that there weren't already people looking up to me before because, obviously there was. I'm pretty.
Brea soon departed to go to her classes so it was just me and Colleen.
"So...how are you and Billie doing?" She asked me slowly and somewhat hesitantly.
"Um..." I genuinely wasn't sure why she was asking "fine thanks." I told her quickly, trying not to look at her face. "In fact he's taking me to homecoming." i pushed out in a single breath
"Isn't that like, May?" She awkwardly tried to reposition books she was carrying with in her hands.
"No. It's at the start of october" i said well picking up my walking pace not noticing until i saw her speed walking to catch up
"Oh, I don't have a date," she laughs awkwardly.
I was honestly not even surprised, Colleen hasn't been on a date or let alone a one on one with a guy in YEARS. Nor has she been interested in anybody that I knew about. It's honestly bad for my reputation considering I already have one single friend. Both Brea and Colleen are super beautiful. I don't understand why they're still single.
"Jess?. Are you even Listening to me right now" She said Sounding extremely exasperated. "Crap sorry" stuttering. I try to make up an excuse for not listening or answering her. "Sooo did you hear what i said or not?" she repeats.
"Not.." i laughed sheepishly, "mind saying it again for lil old me?"
oh god why did i say that of all things..
"Well i was saying, i hit a teachers only parking sign today parking my car when i sa-" bewildered and completely unaware of my volume i interrupted her near to a scream, motioning my arms up in the air saying "What?!! So how much detention is that huh?" Jesus christ "Are you seriously going to be busy for at least four weekends??" a teacher passing by looks at me with a frown.
Such a stupid girl. Doesn't she know she's practically ruining all my start of the year plans. She looks on at me blankly, probably surprised im raising my voice
"Um.. well actually it's just one. And that wasn't the point i was trying to say something else before you cut me off" she says with an annoyed sigh.
Oops
I silently waited for her to continue, standing there for about three breaths, she instead just walked off in one swift turn of her foot.
Brrrrrring perfect timing too, because I'm just about to arrive at my classroom's entrance.
Hmm i silently think to myself, this isn't the entrance i was expecting.. Very few people were looking at me. That's new, especially considering in the hallway everybody was. I look once more checking for intrigued stares, but there's nothing
The young guy in the desk up front suddenly clears his throat "Miss Bloomburg i presume, will you be taking your seat at some point today?" oh. I didn't know i was standing still at the door for so long, at least now people are looking at me, still not for the right reason i thought they would though.. It's like they don't know who I am, go figure.
Without answering this..teacher's question I side eye the sitting students and awkwardly shuffle around looking for a decent seat, there were only two left so it should have been an easy decision, to sit one seat behind the farting kid from last year, who by the way has had a glow down. or sit two seats in front, facing the new teacher and next to a frenemy named melissa. I better choose wisely because this will be my seat for about a month. After careful consideration, not thinking too long, I decided. Teacher it is. Taking my seat I notice all the silent stares but one has gone back down into textbooks, a brunette green eyed guy looks over at me for a single second before looking back down into the textbook. Weirdo.
"Ahem, class if you would be ever so kind and guide your attention to the front board, that would be splendid, i'm Mr Colmds " im close to a snicker. Who says splendid in a sentence when they're barely reaching their twenties,
Apparently my almost snicker isn't hidden well enough because Mr Colmds gives me a questionable look. "Something you'd like to share with the class, miss bloomburg or can i start my introduction." i suddenly sat up straighter "continue if you'd like, don't let me stop you from doing your thing" i say with a grin and nod of my head. "Fantastic" he looks on with squinted eyes directly at me with a forced grin "Im Daniel Lou Colmds. But you may call me Mr Colmds or Mr C'' He now looks on to other students in the class "I am 22 years old, and I've worked extremely hard to earn this position so if you decide to make a fool of me I will make sure you fail this class." wow Daniel has backbone, can't wait to see him crack under the pressure of year 10-12s.
"Hey Daniel, are you married?" a high pitched female voice says from the back of the class, followed by giggles from the other girls. How inappropriate. These Girls are honestly the worst, I curiously look back trying to match the face of the girl to somebody i'd recognize from last year.. Ah, I know who it is. She's got deep red colored hair with bright blue eyes, lots of freckles. Well you know what they say, reds are crazy.
"No. Miss Lance, I'm not married." i turn my head back around to face him "Nor do i get into relationships with 15 year old girls" he grimaces and crosses his arms, exposing that they are slightly muscled.
flipping her luscious curls the red head snickers "Actually that's good then because I'm not 15. I'm nearly 17" she laughs once more at him, eyes shining into his.
Daniel's eyes pierce right back in annoyance, obviously he wasn't digging it. "I am your teacher. Imply such inappropriately disgraceful things and I will ask you to remove yourself from this room. Are we clear?" he breathes out in such a fast single breath I'm surprised he got it all out.
hah the girl has finally gone silent.
"Great no more talking, we can start now" He smirks one last time before walking towards his desk and leaning on the dainty wood
"Many of you might know eachother but we also have new kids so we're going to be going around introducing ourselves." Groans fill the silhouette of the classroom. "Glad you're enthusiastic! Shall we begin?" gesturing his hand to me he says in no less than a whisper "Miss Bloomburg you may start, please stand, say your full name, and something about you" I brush my skirt down lick my lips and stand.
"Hi everybody." I confidently exclaim with a grin "I'm Jessica Bloomburg" Ah, now people know who i am, everybody looks on with either fear or admiration.
"And I'm gonna make year 12 my bitch."
