Jacob lay staring upwards. Looking up at the entrance of the well, the sky and outside world just beyond it. He had stopped trying to crawl out 2 weeks ago and had been staring up, defeated. His skin had long began to bloat from the water but he didn't care. His stomach burned with an insatiable emptiness. He reached up to the sky above with the last of his strength. Seeing how much his body had withered in his time down here. He looked at his hand, his mouth already watering. What started as a intrusive thought quickly spiralled into an obsession. He needed to eat, he could survive without a couple fingers right? Before he could even finish the thought his finger was in his mouth. He bit as hard as he could into his finger. He felt blood trickle between his teeth. Pulling his hand away, he saw teeth marks around his finger, the skin split and bleeding but still attached. He groaned in frustration and lay down, defeated. Feeling his week body slipping into unconsciousness.
