"It's so surreal, isn't it?" I whispered, listening to Joseph's heart racing. "We went from desperate desire to clinging to each other, butt naked with only my sheets for cover" I added
Joseph leaned in and kissed my forehead. "Do you regret it?" He asked. his chest frozen with a breath as he waited for a reply.
"No, I thought it was a beautiful experience
… do you?" The question alone stopped my heart as I looked up into his eyes.
"Not for a second," Joseph whispered, giving a big kiss on my forehead. Making my starry eyed gaze lock onto his face before they fell to my tiny clock beside my bed.
"Joseph... it's nearly one!" I gasped, my blood ran cold and the air grew heavy on my chest.
"I have to be getting back to the boot camp, I'm already going to have hell to pay for sneaking off to begin with" he stated. Wrapping his arms a little tighter around me.
"Tell them you were with your secret wife" I winked,
He sat up and gently put my head on the pillow beside us "It wouldn't be a secret then" he chuckled while getting up.
"Maybe after the war we can... " I whispered "whatever this is maybe we can…"
"For better or worse right? I don't want whatever we have here to end, it'll be hard while overseas but I want to keep seeing you any chance I can get." He said before planting a few more kisses on my lips, curving them upwards.
"Well then, let's find your clothes" I offered as I gathered my sheet up to wrap around myself "you know where you've been gone this long they might already know" I added
"Pierson probably does, now whether he'll say anything or not is a different story" he explained before giving me a quick kiss... and then another... and finally one more "why are your kisses so addicting? " I playfully demanded
"Why are your kisses so damn sweet?" he retorted, taking a step away from the bed, giving a full view .
"Now you sir, were sculpted by angels" I mumbled
"What?" He asked, surveying my room for his clothes.
"Oh, nothing" I smiled. We hurried around my apartment getting him dressed. I had a sinking feeling as we made it to my front door.
"Until next time? " He asked, caressing my cheek. I leaned forward giving him another kiss
"I'll be waiting" I chirped back watching him leave. When the door shut I didn't feel alone. I knew he'd be back. and I couldn't wait to see him. I walked back to my room slowly thinking about everything that had happened since he walked through my door.
My feet dragged back to my room and into my bed. "How am I supposed to sleep after that?" I breathed while I tugged and twisted a small section of my hair
That was when my four thirty alarm decided to chime. "Is it already time?" I groaned. I hurried to shower and get dressed only slowing down to do my hair and makeup.
My cheeks burned while my skin glowed from my sins. "How am I supposed to keep this a secret from Lily?" I groaned. If I wasn't careful things were definitely going to get a bit messy.
"Miriam? Are you awake yet we need to get to the hospital early today!" Lilly pounded on my door.
"This just got trickier. '' I muttered as I rushed to the door. "Your wide eyed and bushy tailed this morning?" I greeted while swinging the door open
"I slept like a rock last night! So how was your dinner date?" She rushed as she took a step inside "judging from your face it had to have gone amazing!" She crowed
