*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*Your pet
I was like your pet
But not one you sheltered or loved
One you caged up outside in the rain
And kept on a chain leash to
Stop it from leaving
At first you kept me in your home
You fed and walked me
But then I had problems
Problems you never seen
Problems neither of
Us could solve or control
So you kicked me out
Though, you did it subtly
You led me out with bait,
Promising you'd finally give me the food
And after leading me out of your house
You tortured me
But it was a strange way of torture
You didn't hit me or punish
Me with anger
But with neglect
By letting everyone else in your home
With smiles of promises and
Hugs of friendliness
While I froze in a storm of judgement
And loneliness
I watched as you fed them with meals
Of love and attention
While you starved me days on end
With a small bowl of plastic and pity
I cant blame you though
You couldn't fix me
So you ignored it
If you ignored my hunger
You wouldn't hear the sounds of
Hunger and touch starvation
If you didn't count the ribs
That were on display for everyone
Than they'd disappear
But I'm not your pet
I'm not a stray cat for you to claim
I'm not dependent on you for my foodAnd I am certainly not some mutt
That you only feed when it's convenient
For you.
